I like the poncho. what's the best yarn to use, when making a summer poncho or shawl? I made a shawl, but the yarn I used made it too hot to wear. I want it to be light wt.

I like how it turned out using Caron Cakes. I only used 12 ozs of yarn and the fabric is lightweight. Perfect for a cool restaurant or evening.
@mayurbharthi5 жыл бұрын
hi there , I suggest that if you want your shawl or poncho to be light use worst weighted yarn which is really thin light weight and it will not be too hot to wear

I'm not sure without testing trials on that. We have just a once size in the neck but you can stop on the length when you feel its best.

It's a very easy pattern. But, I am not a big person and I think the neck size is a little bit big for me. How can I reduce the neck size. I think I may have to reduce some number of stitches in the beginning. Please give me some ideas. Thanks.
@TheCrochetCrowd7 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, as I did try to go down a bit on the starting chain, shorten the chain by 8. Then instead of 9 groups of 3 on each side of the points, you will have 8 sets of 3 dc groups. ~ Jeanne

How to Crochet - The Crochet Crowd. Omg thanks for replying back. Big fan😁. Well bear with me on my idea. I was thinking a "Peru poncho" look to it, colors are more orange, brown, red, off white, warm colors. A open front type of poncho. My husband is a pipe smoker and I wanted to make him something he can wear in the fall for when he is reading and smoking him pipe outside.

I like to do a SC foundation chain... would that eliminate turning better?
@TheCrochetCrowd7 жыл бұрын
SC foundation is fine. You start turning at the end of round 2 and each round after that. It keeps the side seam in line.
@patriciahayes4627 жыл бұрын
love the caron cake yarn. Question, when you are doing larger sizes, do you add more chains or use different hooks?
@TheCrochetCrowd7 жыл бұрын
No, just continue the pattern until it's the desired length. It grows wider as it gets longer.

I like this, but I have a question; why do you turn the work for this instead of just going around and around in the same direction?

It keep the side seam straight instead of going at an angle. Also avoids 4 sl sts to get to the next ch sp.

I want this style of one pc. poncho, but in a different stitch. I can't find any, they are all the 2pc, & I just don't like the one I tried. It came out horrible & I don't know why. I just don't like how it lays or how the bottom edge is different on one section from the other. It was not something I could see in the pictures before I started the project. :(

Hello, my name is Amanda, and I'm wrong handed. LOL. Almost every tutorial I've seen is right handed. I've never heard anyone say that the instructions would be backwards to me. Is this a simple statement, meaning exactly that, or is there more to it? Do I genuinely just need to reverse every pattern?
@TheCrochetCrowd6 жыл бұрын
No reversing of pattern. We have a left handed version of this video in our Left Handed KZbin Channel. I am just crocheting in the opposite direction. Moving right to left. Lefties go from left to right.
@amanda.christinephotograph37146 жыл бұрын
Please forgive me if I sound silly. So, as I understood the original statement... using a page of a book as an example... I would start at the 1st line and read from right to left, not start starring at the last line moving up. Would that be a correct interpretation? Thank you for taking the time.
