Cheryl Rowe did you ever make this sweater? How did it turn out and how long did it take to complete? This is my first attempt also to make a sweater, and I’m running into similar problems, but the suggestion to use markers at the end of each chain stitch is a great idea. I’m going to try that. I’m only on the 12th row of first panel and it’s taking forever it seems, but then again, I’m using weight 4 worsted yarn and trying not to make stitches too tight. I know this though, if ever I make this again, definitely doing it in chunky yarn!😉😉

Hey Carrie, I'm in the process off making this (jumper) first attempt I had to rip back after 45 rows when I noticed a mistake in row 5! If it helps anyone I'm a side 16 and chained 80 on an 8mm hook. I crochet tight I'd recommend using a row counter so you don't make the mistake I made, and think odd rows start with a slip stitch even with a half treble.

Hello, I adore the sweater and the style of it! However, do you have a pattern for an XL size? I’d like to make one for my granny, but she would need the sweater to be an extra large
@masuganut20825 жыл бұрын
Annika Doe if I may..... on her written pattern she says for a small/medium to chain 52. And for a medium/ large chain 56. So going in that sequencing then a large/xl would be 60. And the xl/xxl should be 64. Keep in mind you have your own personal gauge. But it seems to me as long as your starting chain is a multiple of two then you should be ok ❤️ I hope that helps 🙂
@annikadoe81175 жыл бұрын
Masuga Nut thank you very much! I don’t know how to calculate sizes, as I’ve never made a garment before; But your multiples of 2 idea makes sense. Thank you so much again!
@masuganut20825 жыл бұрын
Annika Doe it’s absolutely no problem. I really hope it works out for you. Think of it this way, it’s not a fitted garment, it’s meant to be loose and comfy so you have some flexibility with whatever amount you choose to chain. Personal gauge is something that tends to throw people off, even my mother who has been knitting and crocheting for sixty years. Everyone’s own personal gauge can vary so much. And not every yarn is the same even when it’s classified in the same weight group. I know your grandmother will love the sweater! You’re a sweet granddaughter to be doing that. Lots of luck!! ❤️
