I tried to use 4 ply milk cotton yarn then it turned too small :

The ply doesn't matter as much as the hook size. I've had 3 ply I need an 8mm hook for and a 4 ply I needed a 2.5mm hook for. On the label it should say what size knitting needle and crochet needle you need. You'll need the same size yarn and hook as in the video for the same size. If that matches it is probably your tension(how tight your yarn is being held.) It would be tighter than in the video. Hope that helped :)

Actually ply is not the thing.. U have to look for what weight is the yarn.. Am not talking about the gram thing.. Am talking about the thickness of yarn.. There is diff type.. Like dk, aran, bulky etc etc..and there is weight 0,1,2,3,4 if a product is weight 2 then almost evry brands product is similar to the same thickness..sry if you dnt understand this.. English is not my first language🙂
