I used a 5mm hook with 4 weight yarn, and it came out too long from front to back and a tad too short from top to bottom. Had to to 8 rows instead. My next bonnet with this pattern, I will also be increasing the length of the rows by a few throws. Great pattern!

Hello, Thanks a lot for this pattern. I am totally new to this and still managed to crochet my first baby bonnet :). Just a question, I cannot guess why there is the open space (2 stitches left, not crocheted) in the cap? Is it that a mum unties the laces, places the bonnet on baby's head and then tightens the laces based on the size of the head? Can you send a picture how the bonnet looks on baby's head please? :)

When you get to Rnd 6 & continue from there with 10 Rnds of DC, do the 10 Rnds include Rnd 6 or does that mean an additional 10 Rnds after Rnd 6? 😊
