What a fun hat. My only question is that while you were teaching how to decrease you didn't stitch that first decrease stich keeping it forward... Are we not supposed to keep keeping the stitches forward and backward as we have been? I ask, because I'm a newbie and I found that as I was dreading a few rows down that my squares were starting to look crooked. Thanks in advance!!

Nice to hear baby in the background, so we can better imagine the bonnet being worn!

Love this project! The waffle is so so cute in person! Has anyone tried this pattern in different sizes? I would love to make a bigger one and a smaller one, but I’m not sure how to adjust the numbers. Thanks!

sorry this is a bit late… i would say you should take measurements (head circumference, face width, desired height of the bonnet to fit the person’s head, etc) so you can refer back to them and measure the project as you go while you are making the hat to ensure it’ll be the right size for the bonnet wearer! i’d also make the beginning chain either shorter or longer (depending on the size you are intending to make) than what she did in the video, and then work the rest of the pattern the same way the lady did but with your own stitch count. hope this helps !

Love this pattern!! 🥰💛 What size starting chain would you recommend for a newborn? Or do you know what multiples to keep the chain in (like multiples of 4)? Thank you!!!
@mamashaoc3 жыл бұрын
For anyone who's curious, for a newborn bonnet I made the starting chain with 24, then started increasing after 6 rows / 3 waffles, increased for 6 rows / 3 waffles, 2 regular rows, then began decreasing 6 rows, and followed the reg pattern for 6 more rows. I followed the rest on the tutorial as is. The result was lovely and fit my newborn niece nicely. 🥰 Edit: I used a 3.75 hook and 3 ply baby acrylic yarn.

Such a cute pattern, but a very confusing tutorial.

Girl, you keep saying “1 single crochet” at the start of the rows, but you’re making Double crochets. ..... I’m doing this from listening and I’ve just had to start over about 2 rows because it’s all messed up lol. I thought maybe it was a part of your pattern to have offset rows, but no!!! Please mind your directions !!!

I am struggling so much with her direction. She lost me on 3 rd row. And i crotchet for years.

I have crocheted for 50 years and I just gave this one up. I figured it all out but I just couldn't watch any more. Written pattern would be safest bet with this one. Or just watch the stitches carefully. My eye sight isn't the best and just listening isn't going to work so I'm out.
