Claudetta, what a wonderful video. You used a solid color; you used a single strand, you spoke slowly and your pictures were up close and so clear. You cannot imagine some of the awful videos out there. One person insisted on demonstrating a so-called beginner headband but she herself used two different colors and a diff. weight, but told her viewers to use something else - it was a disaster. Then I found you. Heaven!!!

Mine turned out terrible, I started with fifteen and ended up somehow with ten stitches... I will try again LOL... rewatching the video.. I can do this! :)
@amalieolsen004 жыл бұрын
I struggle with that as well and my aunt thought me to use stitch markers and that helped a lot! I recommend searching it up and see a tutorial on it and maybe purchase some if it seems like something you’d want to work with! ❤️
@ChiKitty242 жыл бұрын
Very common issue. Add a stitch marker to the first and last stitches, then carry them up with every row.
@reasamsons2 жыл бұрын
Maybe you missed some stitches in the second layer of stitch. It’s important to make sure you didn’t skip a stitch from row 1

For those having trouble with the stitch numbers… follow what she says at 4:25 about having a straight edge. I decided to try this with a crazy varying weight yarn and had so much trouble with it till I started paying attention to that.

Very green beginner here. I have made two of these so far. Both are on the larger size so my next one I will be adjusting. Two things I have found out so far ... black yarn is extremely difficult to work with and using a larger crochet hook rather than a smaller one makes the process much easier. Great tutorial. Easy to follow with good results.

Just finished my first one. Turned out just like pic. Terrific instructions! I had trouble finding chunky or bulky yarn, so I doubled my medium weight yarn. First time trying that and it worked very well. I think it does throw the measurements off a bit or else I have an extra large head. Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed following your tutorial...no need for written instructions.

@hollyhock39454 жыл бұрын
@@autumnspring6624 I apologize for not answering sooner. I just saw your question. I doubled it by using both ends of the skein. You will want to pull the one out from the middle a bit more at first because it is tangled sometimes. Hope that helps.
