What size/type glitter yarn did you use?

What I used in the video is of unknown origin, but Aunt Lydia’s size 10 metallic thread should work.

Could this be made over a clear ornament and be covered with petals?

I would start with the petals as the video shows, then make the ball itself, and insert a clear ball before making the last round.
