Market Prep 🌷 prices, patterns, & inventory plan! Prep with me for my next market (PART 1)

You might want to bring one or two larger plushies to draw people to your booth. One of your adorable larger turtles would definitely turn heads. If they aren't willing to spend that much but like your work, they might be more willing to spend $8-$15 on one of the smaller plushies.

For markets small items sell the best but big items draw in customers, I'd recommend bringing a couple jumbo to pose high and grab attention but not expect to sell. I do this and while they rarely sell, they definitely drive traffic. Its especially useful when the market has similar booths, you want people to come to you first

Suggestion - set up a Google doc (or whatever spreadsheet you are comfortable using) with your market inventory plan and what is completed so far. You can check off items as they're completed (which is oddly satisfying to me) and you can tweak it as you continue to do shows. Now you have a guide on what to work on between shows so you don't have to cram crochet right before the show. For example if you have 10 bees, 5 green leggy frogs and 3 purple octos on the market inventory plan and you have some time to crochet and aren't sure what to make - you can refer to the market inventory plan and see that you have 6 bees, 2 leggy frogs and 3 octos in inventory so you should prioritize bees and green leggy frogs over purple octos. Keeping your basic stock filled between shows gives you time to play with new patterns as you get closer to a show.

Love all of these! I make that same axolotl pattern & I'm able to sell it for $10, it ends up a bit bigger than the picture looks. Also, be careful of the legs, sometimes they don't line up quite right! I'm pretty sure the pattern says to sl st & ch 1 at the end of each round, but if you work in the spiral the legs are off center. I usually don't place my eyes until after the first set of legs is done :) It's such a cute pattern and works up super easily once you work out the kinks! :)
