Crochet Octagon Coaster Written Pattern:
Materials Required:
1 x 50 gram ball of Cleckheaton 100% bamboo aqua yarn - for main part of coaster.
1 x 50 gram ball of Cleckheaton 100% bamboo taupe yarn - for edging of coaster.
You can make several crochet octagon coasters from a 50 gram ball of yarn. Yarn Note: This yarn I've used is a 3 ply which is similar to super fine, fingering or baby weight yarn.

Crochet Octagon Coaster Measurements
4 x 4 inches/10 x 10 cms
Using aqua yarn and 3.0mm hk, ch 2.
Rnd 1: 8 sc into 2nd ch from hk, sl st into 1st sc to join. (8 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 1, 2 sc into same sp as ch-1 and into each st around to the end, sl st into 1st sc to join. (16 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as ch-1, 2 sc into next st, [1 sc into next st, 2 sc into next st] 7 times, sl st into 1st sc to join. (24 sts)
Rnd 4: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as ch-1, 1 sc into next st, 2 sc into next st, [1 sc into each of next 2 sts, 2 sc into next st] 7 times, sl st into 1st sc to join. (32 sts)
Rnd 5: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as ch-1, 1 sc into each of next 2 sts, 2 sc into next st, [1 sc into each of next 3 sts, 2 sc into next st] 7 times, sl st into 1st sc to join. (40 sts)
Rnd 6: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as ch-1, 1 sc into each of next 3 sts, 2 sc into next st, [1 sc into each of next 4 sts, 2 sc into next st] 7 times, sl st into 1st sc to join. (48 sts)
Rnd 7: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as ch-1, 1 sc into each of next 4 sts, 2 sc into next st, [1 sc into each of next 5 sts, 2 sc into next st] 7 times, sl st into 1st sc to join. (56 sts)
Rnd 8: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as ch-1, 1 sc into each of next 5 sts, 2 sc into next st, [1 sc into each of next 6 sts, 2 sc into next st] 7 times, sl st into 1st sc to join. (64 sts)
Rnd 9: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as ch-1, 1 sc into each of next 6 sts, 2 sc into next st, [1 sc into each of next 7 sts, 2 sc into next st] 7 times, sl st into 1st sc to join. (72 sts)
Rnd 10: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as ch-1, 1 sc into each of next 7 sts, 2 sc into next st, [1 sc into each of next 8 sts, 2 sc into next st] 7 times, sl st into 1st sc to join. (80 sts)
Rnd 11: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as ch-1, 1 sc into each of next 8 sts, 2 sc into next st, [1 sc into each of next 9 sts, 2 sc into next st] 7 times, sl st into 1st sc to join. (88 sts)
Finish off.
Weave center yarn tail in around the back of the first row with a yarn needle.
Edging
Using taupe yarn and 3.0mm hk, sl st into the same st where you last finished off.
Rnd 1: ch 1, sl st into next and each st around to the end; make your last sl st into the 1st sl st you made.
Finish off.
Tie a bow in the 3 remaining yarn tails.
If your coaster has kinks and curls in it then you will need to lay it flat and spray it with water.
