this is the first video ive ever watched from you and i honestly love everything about you :)) i love how youre just very truthful, and you have a very sweet yet chill vibe about you. you kind of remind me of myself and you honestly somehow just gave me the motivation to take a shower for the first time in a couple of days. youre more self aware and dont mind showing that not everyone lives perfectly. so thank you for this video

I'm just finishing a granny square cardigan. My first one. I slip stitched the squares together as you did with your squares. To soften the seams so that they won't be annoying I pinned and blocked the seamed together squares and steamed them and let it dry. The steam really flattened and softened them. I have trouble with my hands and I could not crochet at all without Furls hooks. They are amazing. Ergonomic and gorgeous! I can crochet as long as I want to with no pain. I highly recommend them. They will save your hands and delight your senses. ❤🍋

Loved this video!!! Was also crocheting along, I am making a two sided blanket with solid granny squares!! I havent really decided on the theme too much but i think i may either do Fire and Ice/water? Or have the emotion, the red/yellow/orange could be upset and then the other side could be joyful colors? Or i may do sunrise and sunset theme!! Its also all gingham!!
@hobbymoth2 жыл бұрын
That's such a cool idea! As someone who often needs their space and has trouble communicating, the emotion one would be pretty useful. Like red side up means "don't talk to me I'm recharging" and the green side up means "safe to approach" lol. I'd love to see how it turns out!

Yes! The thing about doing the side pieces together! That annoys me so much too! I'm working on a patchwork sweater as well and I'm doing a contrast stitch, which was the worst decision ever bc the side stitches get so janky!! So what I'm doing is crocheting on a border on the sides so the stitches will (hopefully) be more even🤞🤞 But it's a ton of extra work and so many more ends to sew in😭 I'm probably gonna stay away from patchwork for a while after I finish that hahah...
@hobbymoth3 жыл бұрын
Oooo a border is such a great idea! I'll have to try that next time (if I ever do patchwork again). Good luck with yours, I'm sure it will look amazing!

So I have thoughts for the sides of the squares... I’d crochet however many stitches you’d need for a starting chain. So I tend to do one in the side of single and half double crochets, two in the sides of double crochets, and three in the sides of trebles. It’s worked pretty well for me for the most part. If you try it let me know how it goes! 🍋🍋
@hobbymoth3 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea, thank you so much! I'll definitely try that for my next project :)
@brendabravo34452 жыл бұрын
@@hobbymoth hey I know I'm a little late, but maybe instead of crocheting the squares starting with a foundation chain and crocheting row on top of row, you could try and make solid granny squares, so you have neat stitches on all sides. I also find it stressful to sew along the raw edges lol
