Sir Crocodile[2] is the former president of the mysterious crime syndicate Baroque Works[11], the main antagonist of the Alabasta Arc, and the central antagonist of the Alabasta Saga. He is one of the longest running and most noteworthy primary adversaries of the series, as he was the first enemy to hand Luffy a complete and utter defeat, as well as one of only two who has defeated Luffy more than once. He was originally introduced as a Shichibukai[5] but was later stripped of his title after attempting to take control of the desert kingdom Alabasta.[3]

Crocodile is one of my favorite villains of One Piece. Why? Because he is one of the few who took down Luffy in a fight. Besides Dressrosa, this was one of my favorite arcs in the anime.

Croco-Boy is not a villan , is an anti-hero. And the truth is that Luffy would never be able to beat Doflamingo and stronger enemies without Crocodile. If he wouldn't let him alive as a first, the pirate world will be the same without any collor.

I think Crocodile is my personal favorite villain because first, we know very little about him; I've not watched anything past the CP9 arc, but from where I stopped, there was no long backstory for him, whereas most other villains if they get a second appearance later get their backstories explained and become more sympathetic or, in the case of Buggy, comic relief. We don't get that with Crocodile. He looks like a Mafia don, is very intimidating, and *stays* intimidating.
