I used partly of the score, but learned it from my music teacher a long time ago. I have added some few things myself (like the broken chords in the intro). I recommend you buy The Ultimate Elton John Collection.

That's very good - I found the arrangement from the Ultimate book very tricky. I think they've taken the bass guitar part and overlaid the melody on it, and it just doesn't sound right (most of the other arrangements are pretty good). I'm going to try it your way...

The third chord in the intro should be Gdim/F#, rather than F#7---small point, but it does make a difference.

You are right, on the album he plays Gdim/F#, but I noticed he does not do that in most live performances... and I think it sounds better with the F# chord.

I like the dissonance resulting from combining the Gdim with the F# bass, resolving to Gmaj---it's less obvious than using the straight F#7. I will check out some videos of EJ doing the song live.
