Really? I thought that was a total "boy that escalated quickly" Moment and just proved how bad he must have been inside already. He had seen that mufasa lied for him and tried to get Sarabi to like him so he knew that he wasn't betrayed. Also there's a long long way from feeling betrayed to getting a whole group of murderous lions to kill your brother and the girl you like. In no way was he poor. I really disliked that they tried to give him a backstory that tried to get compassion for him because he mostly still seems petty and psychotic.
