Croft State Park - SC State Parks - Spartanburg, SC - Ultimate Outsider
My next SC State Park on my quest to become an Ultimate Outsider was Croft State Park.
Croft State Park is located near Spartanburg SC. This State Park was an army training base. The training camp closed in 1947. The property opened as a state park in 1949.
Croft State Park is known for its equestrian facilities. The park hosts shows in its arena and offers more than 20 miles of equestrian trails.
While in Croft State Park I decided to check out Lake Craig and hike the Nature Trail.
Lake Craig is a 165 acre lake for fishing and paddling.
The Nature Trail is a 1.5 mile loop with a difficulty rating of easy. This Croft State Park Hiking Trail winds along the rocky shoals of Fairforest Creek and then heads back uphill through the woods. This hike was such a treat! The section along the creek was beautiful and this would be a great family hike in the summer.
