Oh Cromer pier! I have walked you up & down, from 1989 to 2016 with gaps along the way. it started with a beautiful kitchen girl from the bath house, once a pub & B&B her name was ? one of many, on dear old Cromer peir. Thankyou James Fox.

sitting on the wall on left side in 1955 was elina salo from finland, she was speaking to italians in their language. turning to her friend began speaking a language i'd never heard before. waiting for her to pause, asked her what language she is speaking. she replied, "finnish, we're from finland. thus began a short relationship this young american soldier never forgot. elina salo is even today the most remarkeable person ever met in my life. she possesed what her country calls "SISU". we go through life's experiences and that was a temp du moment, les souveniers.

So the pier used to have a thin pathway leading to the main pier in the 80’s and 90’s?

That was when a barge during a storm rammed into the pier leaving a gaping hole. Rather than leaving it for dead like so many other seaside towns (no names,,,) Cromer rebuilt it getting the pier theatre back in return.
