Cropredy 2023 ( festival and fringe)

Cropredy has to be one of the most chilled festivals we’ve been to. Fantastic line up last time we went. As well as obvious regulars we saw Joan Armatrading, Big Country, a Richard Thompson solo set, Dennis LeCorriere who was fantastic - couldn’t believe our luck. The village is so welcoming to festival goers and the walk from the festival ground so pleasant by the canal. We must come back another year. Thank you for posting this great tour around the fringe and 2023 festival 🙏- great commentary as well.

I went in 1988. So it's interesting to see so many old people like me in this video!

My first was 1987 and 1988 seemed low key to say the least, possibly because the previous year was stacked out with special guests there to celebrate 20 years of Fairport. I seem to recall The Kuraal Flyers Steve Gibbons and Filarfolket being stand outs of that weekend. One and a half days back then too!

Nice to see this. I went every year between 1985 and 1991 then a final time in 2004. Still looks friendly and civilised.

Thanks for making and posting this. First time for 15 years (that the festival was on) that I couldn’t go for health reasons. So glad to see that all was present and correct around the field. See you at the bar next year 😊

It appear's to have grown considerably since my visit's in 1976 & 77 . I use to date a girl in the village '76 so got invited and lived near Banbury so went along as it was on, not that I've ever bought a Fairport Album ! LOL I also think they were Free ? ? ? Can't imagin going otherwise.

I agree, but ageing demographic and all that, plus families with small kids etc dictate that chairs are the norm these days.
