CSN (and Y too) is a whole realm of music all its own. A new dimension of offshoots, bands that each member was in before they joined forces, and solo from each after they started together. Plus all the combinations with only two of them working together...on and on. The one I personally think YOU, Jamal, would like best from them is Darkstar from 1977. Probably the funkiest groove they ever did. Stills is the most gifted by far of the group, but the harmonies all of them had together is arguably the greatest in rock history, and David Crosby had the best voice.

If I have to story correct, they were all at a party at Frank Zappa's home, and had never met each other before then. I hear it as "Don't let the past remind us of what we are not now." It means, to me, when you think back on really happy times enjoying your happy memories, dont get down thinking you'll never have those great feelings that you once had when you were young or younger.than you are now. If you get older, I think most everybody does that. You miss those types of great times and feelings you had in life when you were younger, and you realize that things are different now and you are also older and are afraid you'll never get those types of great times and feelings back like you had when you were younger - than you are now. Don't let that happen. Don't give up on yourself being able to continue to be thankful and happy enjoying special moments in your life. That is what this song means to me, anyway. Stephen is saying this (in the song's lyrics) to his ex girlfriend who he misses and wants back in his life.

Yeah man I'm going to keep requesting it Guinevere that'll blow your mind bro then you got to do deja vu the song I mean that's the title of the album but does that song talk about some badass harmonies and The rhythms oh my God I know that's probably written about hanging out and Laurel Canyon that Guinevere song I won't say why I won't give away the plot it's just something I know about LA it's mentioned in the song you know I've been watching a lot of your earlier reactions so I'm kind of a johnny-come-lately as it were you know that song dogs by Pink Floyd there's that one part where the dogs are barking but they're using a vocoder which is a particular instrument where you run your voice to it and that gives it that bizarre sound they used to use it on radio all the time where they do the call signs and they'd run it through that and it give it that bizarre tone you know and the other thing is yeah you did wish you were here which is awesome. Of course here's the thing though you've got to do wish you were here part 2 or wish you were here repris I don't know what it's called cuz I want you to count how many times that song changes somewhere along the line I mean you don't have to do it during the reaction I'm just saying they'll just trip how many parts there are later on in the song and then if you do that one Allah tell you a little secret about that one in these here comments all right toadie the doppelganger Billy Preston look alike champion take care be safe we all love you out here and KZbin land

Yes it was stuff like this (side two of Abbey Road is another example) that inspired later masterwork "suites" like Billy Joel's "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant."
@drewcama54813 жыл бұрын
Yes it is a suit. Its like 4 0r more songs in one. They use all forms of harmony and gracefully slide from one to the other. The guitar changes into a sitar like Indian sound to a Spanish Mexican sound and more. The are almost showing off on how beautiful their harmonies are, and tight like the best of choirs and then they add a gospel touch on top of it. I'm sure this song is a music class in itself.
