never thought before to try to actively think about EO while planning cross+1, huh. good idea!

I recognize all cases based on the orientation of the edge and location of the cross color on the respective corner. Being able to instantly recognize EO is super useful when practicing pair choice because it lets you know if you're choosing bad pairs, leading to pointless rotations
@JavaCuber
@JavaCuber Жыл бұрын
yeah, looking at EO gives me an idea of which pair I want to look at first to become my potential first pair
@TriCubing

3:41 if the last move on your cross solution, like this one, and the edge you're tracking is a bad one, you can actually change its orientation to a good edge by simply doing a wide U move instead of a D move

I actually was using this EO trick to predict first pair faster because i only need the edge orientation and where the white face of the corner will end up. But great video :)

Practicing cross+1 for hours getting 5minutes and so But after watching this video at first i thought you were being vague with the eo then i watched a tutorial to understand the edge orientation, went on to practice cross+1 and I'm getting an average sub 1mins from 5,6,7 and my dnf reduced because i now know how to slot in my pairs after inspection no more pauses So thank you Although I'm still a long way off since my execution takes 4secs on average

Eocross+1 tutorial when? Jkjkjk, but this is actually a great approach to it! I actually do the exact same thing when I do cfop so when I saw the title I instantly knew what you were talking about,and during inspection I see how my cross solution affects the edge orientation for every f2l edge which allows me to know which pairs to solve first (or which ones don't require rotations.) Like if I see that one of my edges will be bad I know to save it for last.

hey java, what do you think should be the appropriate amount of moves into making an x cross? like sometimes to make an xcross I just end up using alot of moves that maybe its better to just track the pieces in the cross solution then solve them?
@JavaCuber
@JavaCuber Жыл бұрын
That's a hard question. For me, I only do xcrosses when they're fairly obvious (solved edge, solved corner, free pair, etc.) and I don't try too hard to force them, so they're usually not too many moves - it's hard to quantify, but maybe less than 9? However, Ruihang (or Yiheng I don't remember) and Tymon do xcrosses that aren't as obvious which take more moves, and it seems to work for them.

Simple way to recognize: if edge’s front color does not match one of the side colors,it is bad. If not, it is good.
