Cross Country and Downhill Skiing in Saariselka, Lapland, Finland

North of the Arctic circle and in the heart of Lapland is Saariselka, a popular winter getaway for ski lovers of all kinds in Finland. It is here that I attempted cross country skiing for the first time, and was lucky enough to enjoy the downhill slopes pretty much for myself. Did I enjoy it?
You bet! I had never tried cross country skiing before but it is much more fun than what I expected. It's a good workout but you're outdoors, enjoying great views and fresh air...and there's a technique to master too.
