Mobility is a major part of all special ops training. Shoot/Move/Communicate… Shooting is often the easy part.
Vehicle Mobility is something that the dessert mobility teams practiced a lot. In the desert you won’t last long if your vehicle goes down.
Even though I am retired from military service, I still love to train. That includes mobility.
What better way to train than to travel America with a bunch of GREAT Americans !!!
Deserts, mountains, two oceans; America has the greatest sights to see. So, travel as often as you can.
This video details some of the modifications that we have made to the Jeep to survive the cross country trips.
I hope you enjoy.

Great gear. No matter how many times you wheel, you have to continue to learn what works and what doesn't.

I carry a couple of different splices for brake line, cut line install splice. Emergency valve stems, spare wiper blade because we all know the drivers side always goes first🤔, spray bottle with windshield fluid and small squeegee, hose clamps, splice for rad hose and emergency tape(sealer) and a bunch of other bits and pieces.

I’ve seen a trend lately of many people in the tactical/gun community putting up their ideas of a good overland style vehicle. It’s good to see someone that has put a lot of thought into it based on actual use over the years, very nice set up. Great thought put into this. Even showing the down sides of YOUR particular vehicle that most people don’t mention (usually because they haven’t used their set up very long). Thanks for the work you put in.

Great video Karl. I remember when we popped the hood on your very capable Jeep on Steel-bender and found your power steering fluid boiling. That was crazy and a testament to that system working to max capacity without failing. Now we know what boiling power steering fluid smells like. Good times and looking forward to TR overland crew to visit Moab again.

Thats'a very nice rig you've built. I recently stumbled onto your channel while researching pistol red dots. Its always nice to see folks with well prepped rigs with plenty of spares. The only thing I would add, is a nice M4. But maybe that's already been take care of ;-) I have a 2002 TJ that I built and it's made for a really great chapter in my life. Love the trail, and what goes with it. I would LOVE to have a nice V8 in my TJ, but I live in commifornia. We can't do engine swaps very easly, if at all. For comms I got my HAM radio license so I added that to the mix. I'm enjoying your channel! Looking forward to viewing more videos. Good Luck!

I remember you saying you only want other Jeep owners for over-landing and now I see what you mean about the group carry a little bit of spare parts so you don't have to bring everything. I think I would add Starlink so I can still communicate since it offers flexibility put your service on hold when you aren't using it.

@@TacticalRiflemanbig trucks in NYC are required to have a spot mirror looking down for short /pedestrians small vehicles. Some also have a camera mounted on the hood/ grille to avoid running over people / small vehicles. Either way knowing your surroundings...

That seat probly hurts after awhile. Lots of road noise in jeeps. Bad mileage. But it can go off road. Pros and cons i guess. Nice build! Props on the journey.

98% of Jeep owners don't know who Dana is and get upset about bumps knocking duckies off the dash.

Seeing your jeep at the edge of the precipice reminded me of a story in one of Edward Abbey's books. The little jeep in the story was being pursued, but the pursuer still some ways behind. They let the jeep down over the edge and pulled it into a "cave". They had to leave it there. When the pursuers got there, all they saw was tire tracks leading over the edge. It was explained how they did it, but it was a novel, and I don't know if anyone ever actually did something like that. It was a good book anyway.

Would love to know what GMRS channel(s) you use in a SHTF situation, if you’re willing to share. Also might be a good idea to let people know that you’re supposed to have a license to use GMRS. Gotta give the FCC their cut to be “legal” to use!
