Just want to let you know that you and a couple other guys on KZbin greatly helped me get through my Electrical Engineering degree (and Biomedical minor)!!! I want to seriously thank you from the bottom of my heart for making these videos and helping teach these topics better than professors who are paid 6 figure salaries. I wish you taught every course haha but man you do a lot! Thanks again for everything... It will be kind of sad to not have to watch these videos anymore but who knows, I might need them in the future! I hope the education system changes soon

I’m starting my undergrad electrical engineering journey. Was it worth it? Are you making some bread 💰?
@raymondkyruana118
@raymondkyruana118 Жыл бұрын
@@kalebgarcia2733 Honestly, I would probably have gone CS or CE cause that's what a lot of us ended up doing anyways. Def worth the degree in terms of money, but there are other majors that make about the same if not more, with much better college experiences. I would say if you're just in it for the money (which is totally fine) then go finance/investment banking. You'll have a much happier college and probably life than forcing yourself to do this shit everyday. But if you actually like tedious problem solving and you like the challenge of tech (which isn't as glamorous as it seems haha) then yeah CS and EE/CE are worth it and you'll make solid money! Also Engineering management is a pretty good option too! Just make sure your GPA doesn't dip below 3-3.2 cause it's a lot harder to get a job right out of school! Not the end of the world cause eventually it doesn't matter but it can set you back for the first few years and makes getting a job less exciting from what I've seen:/ Good luck!!!

What would be the best way to land a job after getting a bachelors? That's what I'm wondering right now as I have 2 more years until I get mine.
@raymondkyruana118
@raymondkyruana118 Жыл бұрын
@@bootybanditzz First of all, just treat it like a numbers game. Just keep applying and don't take anything personally (still listen to feedback but don't get discouraged) as most of the time the whole hiring process was rigged from the beginning. A lot of the time, they already have a person to fill the role from an internship or connection but they just have to post the job for legal reasons. So that brings me to the 2 biggest points. Networking/connections and Experience in the form of Internships/Co-ops for sure!!! Use the fact that you're young to just start talking to anyone and everyone and eventually you'll meet someone who is in works as an engineer or at least knows someone at a big company. Heck for me, it happened while on a plane. The person next to me was reviewing for a presentation at a biomedical engineering conference and she was pretty high up in the company. Wasn't even sitting in a nice seat or anything just basic economy. We talked for the whole plane ride and boom that was my in. Then in terms of the experience, even if it's not the most fun sounding just try your hardest to get one. Or even a shorter program like over the winter to get certified in something. But yeah as ridiculous as it seems, employers kind of expect an entry level candidate to already have AT LEAST 1 year worth of experience! It's absurd cause like how the fuck are you supposed to get experience if nobody hires you for lack of experience but it's just the way it is. Also start early and just keep applying!!! Like I said in the beginning, it's a numbers game, it's bound to happen at some point. What's a few months or even a year in the grand scheme of things! I have former classmates that thought they would never get a job because they didn't get one early like the rest of us. Some didn't get one until literally 10 months after graduating but they finally did. Literally a few months after they got hired everything was smooth sailing and life was good. So yeah don't stress too much but definitely try to do these things. Good luck!!!

How did you know the signs of i, j, and k?
@thatgoose2639
@thatgoose2639 6 жыл бұрын
i is really i(11) which is row 1 column 1. the formula to find the sign is (-1)^(row # + column #) so i is (-1)^2 which is positive 1. For j, j(12) because it is in row 1 column 2. Apply the same formula (-1)^(1+2). (-1)^3 is -1, so you subtract. row k; K(1 3) row 1 column 3. apply the formula (-1)^(1+3). (-1)^4 =1. therefore you add. Most people just remember it goes i - j + k.

I have gained a lot of understanding from your explanations NOT just on this topic but across multiple topics or courses and its not something I take for granted. I am and I will forever be grateful for that. I have a bit of a challenge to understand where the negative is coming from on in the component i (-4 3) ( 2 -8 ) for me I am getting a 38 after cross multiplying -4*(-8) =32 and 2*3=6. hence 32+6 =38. where is the 32-6 coming from? Secondly, where is the Negative coming from j. I have seen you are adding the i and k components but on the j you are subtracting or negating?

Question 2:20 Why is " j " negative and " k " positive? Is there a reason or we must always do it like this?
@LiveAventura
@LiveAventura 4 жыл бұрын
Muhammad Hashim Bin Quraish the original equation has a negative sign on the j (i-j+k ). Look at the sign in front of the letter in the equation

there's actually a sign convention that you should follow, when you're looking for the determinant of a 3x3 matrix
@lunarz7117
@lunarz7117 4 жыл бұрын
As @That Goose comented earlier:- i is really i(11) which is row 1 column 1. the formula to find the sign is (-1)^(row # + column #) so i is (-1)^2 which is positive 1.

It is just a deduction but I want u 2 confirm it and tell me if I am right or not..... u r an Egyptian , your age = [16,18] , u r from STEM schools in either 11th or 12th grade this all could be wrong but this is just a deduction when it comes to ur question , u have to study matrices (matrix) before studying cross product so that u can understand well how is it like that

10:06 Why is it minus j :( im kinda lost
@azwadbinarif783
@azwadbinarif783 4 жыл бұрын
It minus j cause we follow the rule for co-factors in determinant value. Formula is (-1)^ i+j where i and j are row and column no. Respectively. Or as a shortcut you can say if the addition of i+j is even we put + and if its odd we use minus !!

There's too many positive comments here so I thought I'd share my perspective lol. I watched this video for a couple minutes, and didn't understand what was going on at all. Then I went to the first webpage in a google search for "Cross product explained" and understood it conceptually within 2 minutes. I'm glad this video helped some people though, power to them! (And great on the guy posting it!) It did not help me though.
