I am fascinated by your use of different fabric colors. I’ve been using white for so long, I see I am in a rut. Will have to change that. Thank you for an eye opening video!

Playing with colors is so much fun. I love that you change them some to suit your tastes and still stay within the designer's intentions.

Hi Nell! I did find the video a little dark but I lightened my screen up and all was well. What a great tutorial - I have stitched for over 40 years and I have only started to change colors in the last few years - old dog, new tricks. Thanks for taking the time. Your floss organization video was a big help also. Happy summer stitching!

Oh I'm glad you were able to lighten things up. My hubby is figuring out a way to make things a little brighter the next time I do this kind of video. ;)

This is such a wonderful video and the best thing I've seen in a long time! I loved hearing about your process and why you are choosing your colors. I may have to rethink my floss organization, which is alphabetical, but may need to go by color now. Your process for picking fabrics was also eye opening. Would love to see more of these - it's just fascinating. Thank you for this!

Hi Nell! Thanks for putting this video together! It was so therapeutic watching you select your fabric and threads. Sooooo maybe you should do a video EVERY TIME you kit up a new project ;). You have quite a selection of threads/colors to choose from. I need to start building my supply :). By the way, love your nails! Have a great week!

That was such fun - as it should be. I’ll need to be less intimidated and consider it play. I just found your channel this week and loved your storage video. If I hadn’t just set up another color system, I would have gone with this. I use the snap boxes for my wool embroidery and as work boxes, but I never thought of them. Thanks.

Thank you SO much for sharing your decision process! I am known to combine discordant undertones, so have been afraid to change colors. Do you ever have to hunt through other kitted projects for a color that is already in use? I would worry that I was not able to see all the possibilities that I had bc they were in other kits. Thank you again!
@LittleYellowHouseCrafts4 жыл бұрын
Haha yes this is a problem for me sometimes. It's good motivation for me to get things finished though, since then I can put the threads back and make them available for other projects! If I really can't find anything to use, I'll usually wait to kit that project up until I have more appropriate colors available. Helps me keep the number of my wips to a reasonable number! ;)

Thank you for sharing your process in color changing, you are really talented! I'm not good at color changes, I can change 1 or 2 colors. I love your changes for the September Word Play, can't wait to see it stitched!

That was fascinating, Nell! I felt as though I was standing there next to you! I kept saying things like “oh yes, that’s nice!” and “no, I liked the first one better!” 😂 No wonder your pieces always look fantastic: you seem to have such a good knowledge of tones and shades. I’m a bit clueless! Thanks for taking the trouble to do this.

I loved this video ! I’m so new at all of this stitching. Do you have a video on how to get the correct sized cloth? Yours look so perfectly cut.
@LittleYellowHouseCrafts4 жыл бұрын
I use the fabric calculator at 123stitch and then order the corresponding fabric size. It comes cut and serged on the edges so I don't have to do anything to it! ;)

@janniestanley4 жыл бұрын
You always always sound positive. Now I gotta go and stitch for a bit cuz you motivated me😊. Such a practical and logical way of kitting up. Thx Nell. Also how in the heck do you get every wrinkle out of your fabrics? I iron all the time but the fabrics you show are perfect! I haven’t gotten my nails done since the shutdown. Yours always look so nice. Take care.

Nell I love this video and enjoyed watching your process. Could you tell me how you go about the purchasing process for over dyed flosses? Do you choose by color family, chart colors or another method. Do you purchase one skein at a time or a group that goes together? Thanks

I have September Word Play on order and I’m sure you have many requests as mine, could you provide me you list of chosen colors for this project. It was so fun watching you select colors. I’m just getting back into cross stitch and I don’t have any over dyed floss so I need to start gathering for my stash. Do you have any suggestions on how. I have just sign up at Victorian Motto and Color and Cotton is not taking any more.

Hi! I just wanted to drop a note and let you know how much I've been enjoying your channel. Ever since I found you I've watched (and rewatched!) so many of your videos, I love playing them in the background while I draw or stitch! I recently got into cross stitching and your videos have helped me to navigate through fabrics and patterns. Hope you have a great week!
