It is pretty but unfinished. Empty space here almost demands some filling. And I would recommend using thick wool so the embroidery looks more solid, and plastic is not visible. Please do the background and frame this lovely bird to hand on wall. It is too nice to be stuck in grandma stuff. What I do I draw my own design with a marker. Then I either use cross stitch or loop stitch (yarn is sown next to each other in straight lines, and on the reverse there is only small loop. Basically like you do with your marker one line at a time, close to each other). That way the picture looks solid. Loops resembles grass and crosses leaves or something like that. But I do not allow the plastic to be visible or cut.
