Thanks for sharing this. I've been in Kendo for 16 years and Iaido for the same. The dojo that I was with offered and encouraged both. The sensei that I was with believed that they were complementary arts even if the particular techniques differed.

I have such a passion for martial arts but unfortunately there are no kendo/ jade or even kenjutsu schools in my area

Well, I suppose you could try starting one with some like minded friends perhaps. You'll need to travel further afield for guidance from established clubs but it is feasible.

Iai and kenjutsu.

Yeah, there's definitely less to separate Iai and Kenjutsu. So that makes sense. I have a few friends who train both.
