It always makes me feel sad and angry to hear of others going through the pain just wanting to be the gender they identify with. I’m glad Mary is now her real self. A lot of her early experiences and the lies pushed on her by the religious brought back some unpleasant memories. It took me a bit longer than her but I’m myself full time now and I love being a woman 😊.

Someday, people will read stories like this and say "Oh BS! No one's family would ever do that!" But it won't be soon. My own story is similar, but not quite so extreme. Religious fanatics like to cherry pick Deuteronomy 22:5. The 2 books, Deut. and Leviticus are full of commandments that no Christian obeys. Tattoos are forbidden. Footballs are taboo even to touch because they're made of pigskins. Shrimp. Lobster. If a virgin is raped she has to marry her rapist. Men are forbidden to cut the hair on the sides of their heads, or to trim their beards... It's a long list that even St. Paul said was impossible to obey.

I knew I wanted this when I was five years old and my sister just re-enforced to me and she always had no problem whatsoever to remind me of who I was since the day I was born a woman and it didn’t matter if no one else knew it we did. I’m not saying I didn’t struggle I’m not saying I didn’t try to end my life because I did but I know my big sister loved her little sister so much and she supported me all of her life until the day she died😢

I knew when I went to school at 4 that I was supposed to be a girl. I had no sisters and mom was not very girly. I got married early trying to suppress the feelings. It wasnt until we were married for 25 years that was discovered wearing stockings. We tried xdressing after a night watching RHPS. It was a disaster and got divorced later when the kids had left.. Now Im too old, the hairs gray, the knees hips dont like heels, my favorite. I got heart issues that scare the hell outta me. At least glad to be able to read of others successes.

​@lurking2182 hi I knew growing up that I was different but because it was the sixties there was no thinking about changing genders I finally met my wife at 34 and got married it wasn't good I found out that she was an bipolar alcoholic she already had 2 young kids so I put up with it we had to kids between us so so I got on with my life it was hell but I loved all the children in my fifties I started to grow boobs without any hormone treatment my doctor told me my male hormones had gone and female ones had started I was so excited and scared my wife told me to have my boobs surgically removed but loved them and couldn't, at work they gave me hell as our uniforms had t shirts so I always wore my work puffy jack even in 38degreC days the stress from the wife and work I finally had a brain heamarage 4months before my sixtieth birthday but survived and got told that I must have friend looking after me so I decided to the woman inside and now 69 just had srs my kids accepted me my daughter told me I was always there mother and father so that was nice my wife divorced me for real man so she's now not my problem any more so at at any age yo can be yourself
