Story in the East

The 2015 East Regional brought Canada East and North East athletes together in a battle for the coveted spots in the CrossFit Games. Heading into the weekend, two athletes were regarded as “sure things” to stand atop the podium at the end of the weekend.
“You never want to say a guy is a sure thing,” said “CrossFit Games Update” host Sean Woodland, “but Mat Fraser’s about as close as you’re gonna get to that.”
Fraser gave defending champion Rich Froning Jr. a run for his money at last year’s Games, and the former weightlifter won this year’s CrossFit Games Open, besting Froning by 13 points.
Perennial CrossFit Games qualifier Michele Letendre was also considered a shoe-in coming off a fourth-place finish at last year’s Games-her best finish to date. With 2014 Canada East Regional winner Camille Leblanc-Bazinet competing in the South Regional in 2015, the top spot was Letendre’s for the taking-and she seized it.
The East will send three rookies-Alex Vigneault, Kari Pearce and Carol-Ann Reason-Thibault-and seven vets-Fraser, Daniel Tyminski, Spencer Hendel, Austin Malleolo, Letendre, Dani Horan and Kelley Jackson-to the individual competition at this year’s CrossFit Games.

Mr Jones him and hilary just adopted a little girl, and he made the decision that he didn't want to sacrifice time with his new daughter to train to be the champ, and he wasn't about to compete without giving it everything he's got, so he's still competing in the open, but at the games this year he'll be competing with team crossfit mayhem

It's great motivation for guys. Seeing women lift that much should put guys on edge to make sure we stay out ahead. I only like to date fit girls so I make sure that I'm all around fit enough to keep up with any woman. These women are the standard, I'd say.
