Crossguard requires that one perk that lets Cal take a hit w/o being interrupted. Then you can use the mass pull and just swipe w/o caring if a hit gets through.

@@sk8ermGs No there is another one that takes up 2 slots, it lets you armor through 1 hit in general along with one other effect. Forgot the name, but I always use that one + the tank while sprinting one together.

I love cross guard. However I also love running a double bladed and twin blade stance. Constantly switching between the stances for strong offense and defense is just oh so satisfying, and visually stunning

facts, that’s always been my main. the damage potential and customization of blasters is tempting though, defense isn’t bad either so i use it instead of double now. honestly pretty broken

Crossguard and Single blade are a deadly duo because they have the best combos in my eyes. Use the shatter perk for ultimate devastating effect

I have an idea for a extra stance: It’s like the cross guard but a shorter blade similar to a European longsword The attacks could be more versatile like the single blade and I thought a unique ability can be as follows: Flowing Parries - on any perfect parry, you get a guaranteed riposte attack off if they are within melee range. This would apply to nearly every enemy except lore based fringe cases. It would mean that every perfect parry is an opportunity for guaranteed decent damage, it would have the added feature of being cancellable into another parry similar to what dual wield can do for all its attacks. The main gameplay loop of the Longsword stance would be based on countering, parry then attack for guaranteed damage or block if needed. The animations and attacks would be much more in line of the single blade stance at a slightly slower speed with more emphasis on the role of being a two handed Longsword, it would be the hardest to use on higher difficulties like grandmaster where the parry timing starts feeling closer to a souls-like. I need to learn how to mod this game lol

It is so awesome seeing the cross guard in action. I really am a fan off two handed sword. That one of the reasons i like Siegfried from Soul Calibur. I ended my last stream at the archive. But i think i will unlock the gun + lightsaber first because i am going too Koboh first. I think the cross guard is unlocked at the Dark Moon planet.

I loooove unique weapon aesthetics like this. Both in attack animations and design. Though something I've always wanted to see: combined use of a crossguard lightsaber with a forearm shield on the offhand like an actual knight. Have a combination of one handed with a crossguard saber and shield bashing. Dump that shit on a Wookie or something for a Sith Juggernaut / Jedi Guardian build.

Isn't it lore that light Saber users are always kind of battling against the weapons energy? It is a little ridiculous but in my head maybe a longer lightsaber with the cross guard takes a lot more skilled user to wield as the energy of the light Saber can be harder to control.

If you think about it as different jedi lightsaber form's being used with each stance it makes sense. Form IV is a focus on big, heavy attacks that are slow and powerful. Others like the dual wield and double bladed would also be other form's, which explains the speed and strength differences between each stance you're allowed in game

In a sense, it is, because the whole point of a crossguard lightsaber is to redirect away some of the excessive power the crystal is emitting. So it is an excessively powerful blade, which would reflect in an user's stance.

I thought the same too, but from what I've read, it seems that lightsabers actually do have some sort of "heavy" feeling when swinging (less heavy for trained force users), so it makes sense that a longer blade would seem "heavy" in the game.

My only grip with cross guard stance (or form 3)...is that he's holding the light saber, and swinging it as if it has weight to it. Light sabers practically weigh nothing, I get the idea behind form 3 is to have "slower" but more powerful swings but the way he moves his body when swinging is "unrealistic"...I get it's a video game, it's all fantasy, but form 3 is still "fast" in it's own way. Yes, you give up some mobility, but at the same time you're not heaving your whole body like you would as if you're swinging an iron claymore.

Think of it this way; when you have a hammer, you have to heft it around but when you swing it the weight on the end does most of the work in transmitting force. If that hammer were a stick of equal length, it would obviously be lighter, right? So it wouldn’t have as much force behind it. Ergo, to make sure the longer blade actually cuts things effectively, more force. It’s always made sense to me…

crossguard is so bad sometimes, there are point where you can parry stagger someone and they will recover before you can get an attack off. Its also just so bad versus multiple enemies, getting spam locked and you cant get an attack off.
