Wow, just amazing to see all my old playground areas as a little boy. What really brings back memories is Leigh Milton Mill. Oh boy did we have fun in that area and even inside the mill. We use to swim across that river, we climbed up the old paddle wheels into the mill itself. We then climbed all around inside this dark haunted building right up into the roof space. How we never got killed is a miracle but it was great fun. Thanks for posting all these old photos, I really enjoy them

Hi, thanks for posting about Crosshouse. My coal-mining ancestors lived on McCristie land, Crosshouse, in the 1800s. I've been searching on old maps of Crosshouse, but no luck. Do you know where it was? Cheers from Australia.

I am not sure. There is a pub/ restaurant called McChristies on Kilmarnock Road. There is also a book about Crosshouse available on Amazon called Old Crosshouse by Heather Crichton Dunlop. It has some great photos in it and a bit of history.. Great to hear from you.
