Guys, we are honestly so proud of you both. We found your channel through these Atlantic Crossing videos, we watched the first two and decided that we would start from the beginning. We've watched all the way to this video and it's been so inspiring! We moved aboard our 30ft boat 2 months ago after spending a year fixing her up, neither of us has ever sailed before but we have been making our way along the south coast of England for the past few weeks, two days ago we had our toughest day yet with strong gusts and swell, everything went wrong! We lost our steering for a while, one of our shrouds came undone and a bunch of other stuff and we almost quit. But we now know from your videos that this is just a bump in the road. Thanks for this inspiration ❤🌞🌈🐬⛵🏅

Hey guys, ohh this is such a nice message to read, so special 🥰 thankyou!! And congratulations on taking the leap, it’s not easy but the experiences you’ll get to have will be worth it 😄 oh wow that does not sound fun or ideal and when you’re in those situations it’s easy to want to give it all up forever 😅 but usually that feeling doesn’t last too long. What’s your plans for your sailing? Will you make your way to the med? ☺️
@helenalwaysАй бұрын
@@LeadingtheEscapade We were hoping to get to the med this winter but we're worried about Schengen and how to navigate the 90 day rule but were stuck at the moment as our autopilot isn't working and it's looking like we need to install a new one 💸💸💸

Another good video, love the editing! When you look back, you see how much the two of you have grown as sailors. True sailing stories to tell you family. Your video captured the feeling of seeing land after 15 days, as my wife and I experienced the same crossing, as you two. “Epic”, definitely, “seemed like yesterday”, from Jason, was on point too!! Hope to meet you guys in Grenada, Cheers!

I am impressed that you left the dinghy on the davits rather than tie it to the foredeck. I have always said I would tie the dinghy down on the foredeck for any serious passage because once things start going wrong with a davited dinghy in horrible weather, there is very little one can do with all the forces in a bad situation. It might mean cutting lines and watching her disappear. But then I found myself on 19 hours of miserable weather Monday in a crossing, bouncing around like never before, needing two hands to stand behind the console and my dinghy was strapped to the davits. Thats' the difference between watching it and doing it. Nice work to both of you! Congratulations and thanks for the videos and helping to show the way.
@LeadingtheEscapade4 ай бұрын
Hey David. Yeah after a bit of testing both methods we found for us personally the dinghy is better strapped on the davits rather than the foredeck as it takes up too much space on thr foredeck on our boat and is probably actually dangerous when needing to walk up there to do anything with the sails. It also got damaged from the headsail sheet rubbing along the rubber sadly. But we made sure on big passages we bring it up high and use extra straps to hold it in place and from moving ☺️ thanks so much! Cheers 🫶🏼
