ABN AMRO is the second largest bank in the Netherlands with more than 500 Agile teams. We are going to show you how we started a DevOps movement from the bottom up and how we enabled DevOps across different units. Mascha Boender is a DevOps consultant at ABN AMRO Bank and was nominated for the Female Young Talent Award in 2018. The Top Woman of the Year Foundation in the Netherlands established the "Young Talent Award" as an incentive prize for young female talent. In her role as a DevOps consultant she is, together with three other colleagues, responsible for the start of DevOps within ABN AMRO Bank. She has defined a change approach for teams to adopt the DevOps way of working and guides teams through their DevOps journey.
Mascha believes in the empowerment of teams. She makes teams responsible for their own DevOps journey. Every DevOps journey is different because it’s about focusing on the individual needs of teams to determine the necessary steps to improve overall team performance. Mascha is looking forward to explain more about this in her presentation.
Stefan Groot is Strategy Consultant at ABN AMRO Bank. His mission is to build high performing teams in large enterprises. In this respect, he has helped dozens of teams in various organizations to understand and adopt new ways of working. At this moment, Stefan is- together with his team - responsible for creating, growing and sustaining the DevOps movement at ABN AMRO Bank.
Stefan believes that digital is not so much a thing as it is a way of doing things. He helps teams (re)shape their mindset and operating model to embrace engagement, collaboration, autonomy and experimentation. Therefore he uses the principles of proven concepts such as Design Thinking, Agile, DevOps and Lean Startup.
