I know a 15 year alcoholic who recently accidentally accepted ketamine, thinking it was coke. They were confused and scared for a moment, but stayed calm and had a profound experience. Most incredible, they haven't wanted a drink in days now, and has zero anxiety. It's leading me down this rabbit hole of research, this is so so fascinating! What an amazing medicine! I'm so glad to hear the response can be so long lasting. This is amazing news and could bring about the changes they have been wanting for recovery. On accident. Wow. Amazing.

_I love how mainstream ketamine has gone. Like this lecture is really boring. That's a good thing_

What? No drugged up hippies on murder rampage?

Absolutely!! We need a less harmful and more effective way of addressing these diseases and dis-eases

How sad is that the doctor has to start by almost justifying his choice to use ketamine as the object of study... scientists shall have no preconceptions, shall not be judgy, so many so called recreational drugs may offer some sort of scientific insight, answers, even solutions! Look into coke, look into ketamine, look into MDMA, look into marijuana, look into all of them, or else patients will keep self medicating, unfortunately. We count on you guys 🌟

One question - Does Yale have any plans to do research on treating MDD, GAD or BPD I and or II with psilocybin?

Worst experience I have had in my entire life was caused by Ketamine ... if you have PTSD and suffer from dissociation I can't imagine why you would want to take a drug that causes dissociation.

Hi I have severe anxieties, cptsd, dpdr(dissociation) and depression etc. + sleeping disorder the doctors haven’t found out about. I don’t know what I can do, and anti-depressant doesn’t work or solve anything. What was your experience with this?

recreational anecdotes are great for parties, but the research is about using these drugs in a clinical setting, with the proper dosage, guidance, and mindset....

I've had many infusions, some were extremely challenging. I totally understand what you are saying. One of my sessions took me a few months to integrate from. I was living in an active trauma environment and trying to do ketamine therapy. From what I have learned, you should have a trustworthy person who can drive you or sit with you and I would recommend not being in a situation where you are living in a traumatic / challenging environment. One must have the awareness of saying yes to the experience. If you resist it, you will have a challenging time and that experience becomes like a ptsd experience in and of itself. Challenging feelings come up and a person does need to realize that they cannot control what comes up in these sessions and to move into the experience. I hope you are feeling better from your treatment. I know exactly what you are talking about! Love and light

Can I get this for chronic depressive disorder that I've had since I was a child? I'm 57 now. I would gladly agree to be in a study for ketamine treatments.

Just go to a clinic near you. They are everywhere these days. They don't take insurance though.

It needs to not be ridiculously expensive and insurance won't cover it. $500 an injection is a little outrageous when so many need it.

@@melaniemoore5635 have a wonderful time, it's a beautiful journey. When feelings arise, I suggest to be open, whether perceived as negative or positive, your brain is working to heal. We are our own liberators of this body. Our only job in the ketamine session is to be present with ourselves and say yes to the experience. Sending you all the good vibes!
