@ILikeMotorbikes
@ILikeMotorbikes 6 күн бұрын
@oldguy8078 it's definitely easier than tubes but if you already have a tubed bike, for the cost involved to go to tubeless, you may as well invest in tools and have a few practices at home. After 10 goes at taking a tyre on and off with some levers you'll have it mastered and it'll be a skill you won't lose. The tubeless repairs roadside are generally a temporary "get you home" type repair and not a proper vulcanised rubber repair at a reputable stop too.

Enjoying seeing how your bikes perform, as well as your luggage. I'd be interested in some of the more nuts & bolts of your adventure, such as what the food stores are like, did you eat at any road side places, when wild camping what are you doing for showering, toilets. Is it easy to get money from the ATM or exchange? Any times places have felt a bit dodgy and you didn't feel comfortable leaving your bikes and gear. Have you been asked to pay to get through check-points?
@ILikeMotorbikes

Hey thanks for the comment! We definitely have a lot of what you've mentioned in your comment, coming up! We've eaten at roadsides, wild camped and showered either with wet wipes, a flannel and warm water or a makeshift shower from a bottle! Also have some clips of money changing at road sides and definitely times we've not felt safe leaving our kit. Also been asked by many to pay at checkpoints/immigration/customs at borders but haven't paid a single bribe the whole way! I'll add more information into upcoming videos for sure

Thanks! Morocco we purchased at the border on entry, very easy to do so and if I remember rightly, its a flat fee regardless of vehicle but you get the option of how many days (we went for 30) Mauritania we heard it was more expensive at the border and not always legit so purchased it in Noudhibou, there are assurances agents marked on the high street and its a fairly easy process though luckily we had a friend who spoke fluent french to guide us through the conversation

It’s Morocco in reality, not according to Moroccans. Im sahrawi from my mothers side and my grandparents are Moroccan and so are their parents. A few young guys in the early 70s were financed by Gaddafi and Boumediane to take the Sahara from Morocco turning it into satellite state for these two communist leaders of Libya and Algeria. The plan failed, Morocco took back its land from Spain, fought 16 years and won. It was never a state on its own to begin with and Algeria really badly wants access to the Atlantic Ocean. Thats basically the TLDNR version of this story. Fun fact, it was king hassan the second who took the file of decolonization to the UN when Spain still occupied the territory. Because its Moroccan land many many foreigners can safely adventure throughout the sahara because its safe and has large developed cities like Layounne and Dakhla. You enjoyed subsidies while there like the fuel and food from the Moroccan tax payer so the least you can do is be respectful and recognize it for what it which is the southern region of Morocco. All Of the separatists are hosted in camps in Tindouf, Algeria and there isnt any tension in the Moroccan area. There is a sliver of this territory which is a no mans land and is demilitarized guarded by a 2,300 kilometer wall built by Morocco. Thats the only area you cant go to but the rest of it is all fair game.

Thanks for all the info, I didn't mean to be insensitive and I will admit I don't fully know of all the history and nuances however, for us, any map we look at then the reigon is noted as Western Sahara, not as Morocco.
