Final Fantasy IX was the first game in the series I had ever played, and this soundtrack was most memorable. Traversing the world map, the haunting strains of this very OST enveloped me. It was like wandering through a landscape of lost dreams - a reminder of paths untaken.

There was a project a few years back where a bunch of individual game devs got together and remade the first section of the game where you wander around as Vivi in Alexandria to showcase what a remake/remaster could be like and the nostalgia hit me like a brick and I almost cried. It was gorgeous and people from Square Enix took notice as well. Everyone's first FF always seems to be their most beloved and FF IX was mine. Listening to this gives me comfort and nostalgia. Love how you mixed these sounds here and I really like the electric piano(?) background that goes on and on, it's so cozy. Cello sounds realistic too!!
