I feel like I got a pretty good one. Everyone is always saying how: “Oh Isabelle needs a break! Give her a break.” I won’t lie, Isabelle works hard, but my poor girl Sable has been behind that showing machine since 2001, and before that had to be a mother at a young age to Mable and Label for years. Everyone says Isabelle needs a break, but Sable hasn’t had a break for almost two decades. Give Sable a break!

I really wish it told you when your tools are going to break. If you are like me you did up fossils and catch fish every day and therefore I go through shovels and fishing rods like there is tommorow. I get that it may stress people out or somthing but I honestly think there should be a durability bar or a zelda like system were it yells you when it will break.

I wish that after the closing time of all the shops the characters would freely roam so you could talk to them. Specially the Able sisters! Those two are the best to talk to. It's nice to see them outside their shop at night.

I would really love this. One of my favorite features in New Leaf was catching characters in the Cafe. I thought that made great strides towards this when Timmy or Tommy would wander around in the early days, but unfortunately they stopped. I don't see why, though. It could be scripted for certain times and it doesn't have to be much. Just something.

There aren’t enough personality types. Every village with the same personality type says the exact same things word for word. it really hurts the immersion and makes them feel so so fake.

there's the same number of personality types as in previous games (more if you compare it to the earliest iterations). personality types always had the same set of dialogue, i mean could you imagine having to program a whole unique set of dialogue for 370+ villagers? and people would still probably complain about how "bob always says the same things!" no shit, he's lines of code. that's all there is to him.

They can just make it so that villagers of the same personality don't say the same thing back to back which honestly isn't hard to program. Then add more dialogue for each personality so you'll rarely see the same dialogue in a short time span.

I had one of my islanders say this to me and i have been trying to kick her out ever sense. She has not left. I personally feel like it's far to hard to kick someone of your island especially when it's on their timing, unless you time travel of course.

I hate how villagers act when you talk to them a lot. Its kinda passive aggressive. I wish they were more personalized to their character and aesthetic and that the same dialogue was repeated every day. I have 3 peppy villagers in my island, and they all say the same things all day.

Zainab Khalid The villager I did this with is Bam. So I obviously really like Bam, and I would talk to him as many times as he would let me and give him items I thought he would enjoy (workout related items). One day I got an achievement on the Nook Miles + app about being close friends with a villager, who ended up being Bam. From that point on he’s been really nice.

Will we be hearing about the color of her belly button lint next? If there's no news, there should just be no news. They've sort of made her sound like an idiot this time. The typical dizzy OL who's better seen and not heard unless it's important. It's a shame, because I loved her so much in New Leaf.

what i would really enjoy is if isabelle would say an tip for acnh or say the hot item of the day and like something that goes like this “I went to the able sisters (or nooks cranny) and i found a nice (item she likes) if you want to get one go to (the shop) durring the morning news and also would give quest like things like “if you find 10 bugs for me, your reward will be 1000 bells!” like nook mile tasks but with bells or like tortimers minigames. i would LOVE. THAT.

I was stuck for a while because I couldn't figure out how to get the animals in the room. I just kept talking to harv over and over, trying to see what I was missing. The problem was that I didn't assume they would be categorized with the furniture.

I don't understand why he gets so much hate. I see him as a chill guy who is responsible for island construction. And while he can be a bit greedy at times, he never gives you any due dates. You could owe him 500,000 bells and go years without paying him and the dude just doesn't give a fuck lol. He doesn't deserve the hate he gets.

I agree, he gets too much hate. He gives you an upgraded house the very next day you ask for it, no interest loan, and you pay it back whenever it's most convenient for you? And people call him a loan shark?? How??? Like, once you get the basement, you could easily never pay your loan again and he won't hunt you down about it. He's super chill. Sure his prices are high, but it's so easy to rack up bells that the high prices barely even matter. I don't get why he's hated on so much.

I keep hearing that talking to them all the time gets them to move. I always talk to Freya and she said she was thinking of moving. I didn't let her of course lol I do agree though, that we should be able to evict islanders out or still be able to find other villagers in mystery islands to replace them. Also, I had a camper come to my campsite and I was able to get them to take a villager's place :) I don't have the amiibo cards so it is possible for people to get that option to get villagers to move. I didn't even have to fulfill any crafting requests. All I did was play a mini game with them and kept talking to them until I convinced them to move. To the point where they called resident services and offered to take someone else's place. The only down side is you don't get to choose who they replace.

So I can confirm that talking to islanders a lot works a lot faster than ignoring them to get them to move. The first time Tex asked to move, I accidentally asked him to stay because of button spamming lol but after talking to him to the point where he asks for a moment to himself every day,, he asked to move again this morning. :D so just keep talking to them, run errands for them or deliver medicine to them like you would for your favourite villagers and they will ask to move. Just ask your fav villagers to stay :)

Perhaps instead of changing your hairstyle, Harriet could do things with hair dye, like highlights, ombré, etc. She could also maybe unlock new, fancier hairstyles like curls or updos (Picking from a magazine instead of that god awful question system) that wouldn't be available with Nook Miles. Possibly also make hairstyles cheaper since they're so readily available, so maybe 1,500 Bells or less? I just really want more shops...

How about I bleck all my ideas out onto the screen? Aight thanks. So, you buy a lot of hats/wigs/whatever head accessories from the Able Sisters. You change your hair a certain amount of times and talk to folks. Whatever, something along that line. Eventually, Sable says something along the lines of, "Well, I actually have a friend who really likes working with makeup, and hair. Really likes fashion in general!" Something like that. Eventually, when talking to Tom Nook, he says that someone named Harriet wanted to open a store on your island. For hair, and makeup, and whatnot. When you accept, the store is built. Just like the old games. Except Harriet has a new assistant (I'd really like if it was a flashy bird or maybe even an insect if you want to get really out there but I'll take anything), so now you and your friend can have styled hair at the SAME TIME. At Shampoodle and Co. (Possibly something else but let's just call it that.), Harriet/her assistant states that she knows you can do your own hair. In fact, there's a mirror just over there! But, she can do so much more. (I'm basing the layout on the Great Clips I go to so bear with me) There are a few seats, probably six because of the whole visitor limit. Near that visitor seat is a table, and on that table are a bunch of magazines. When interacting with that table, it asks if you want to pick up a magazine. If you answer yes, you're taken to a magazine menu, possibly similar to the customization menu with clothes. You can pick out a *unique* hairstyle that you can only get at Shampoodle and Co., and a way of dying it. For dying options, I'm thinking streaks, tip dying, and ombre take top priority. When you're able to get your haircut, you're asked about makeup options (also in the magazine), and haircuts. You can no to one or the other, or you can get both. This is where Mii Masks come back, and also where you can get beards in places other than designs and a select few items. Obviously there are restrictions, no ""toothbrush"" mustaches or bigfoot, but you have a lot of options. Near the counter, there's a shelf with a lot of hair dyes and whatnot. Perhaps this is where you can unlock even more colors, and you can get wigs for certain hairstyles. However, if you want them to actual hair, you'd have to go back to Shampoodle.

I wish villager dialogue was slightly less repetitive, because right now all they talk about is bunny day, eggs, etc... It's just not interesting when it's repeated everyday. But the dialogue is pretty funny and unique for the most part.

i really want more "quests" from the villagers. i feel like i spent so much time doing that in new leaf. now the villagers barely talk to you. TOO many of them have the same exact dialogue. I have Bob, Lucky, and Benjamin and they all have the same exact dialogue. I like them, but i want more variety so I'm going to have to let them leave soon unless i want to hear them talk about the bugs on their floor or how walking is exciting for their feet for the 90 thousandth time. I definitely think they need to bring back mini games because the multiplayer is nonexistant. I'm worried that people are going to get bored very quickly if Nintendo doesn't start pushing out more things to do in this game and everyone will stop playing. Isabel has mentioned i need more storefronts on my island so i'm hoping that means we're getting more stuff soon. I want GRIDS ON THE ISLAND. like in the house. If the main focus of NH is to decorate the island i need a damn grid and to be able to move stuff as easily as in the house.i want to decorate i really do but it takes so much freaking time to get things the right way. I was excited for the path maker until i realized you can still erase custom patterns and then the path maker just kind of becomes pointless because i dont even like any of the default path options. Dont get me wrong i really love the game but there are SO many quality of life updates they could/should do to make it even better that the game feels SO empty right now. (also let me craft things 5 or 10 at a time. and STACK THE DAMN MANILA CLAM. EVERY CRAFTING MATERIAL STACKS EXCEPT THE STUPID MANILA CLAM WHY???)

It's strange how new horizons is such a good game, but its flaws are so glaringly obvious. Hopefully Nintendo fixes at least some of them in the future

I feel it's been a bit of a common thread for most of their big releases the past few years... Nintendo are trying to blow people away with these huge ideas and overhauls of what's possible in a video game, but then when the dust settles people realise how many things they would do differently. BoTW is still one of the best games I've played, but there were like 10 enemy types and the dungeons and bosses all felt exactly the same and after a few hundred hours of amazement it petered out once I realised I wouldn't see anything new and groundbreaking anymore. Odyssey was a super fun experience, but by the time I'd collected every moon, it still felt I'd only scratched the surface and I hadn't really scratched that Mario itch the same way the Galaxy games had. Now with New Horizons they've completely re-imagined what AC games are like with the exterior decorations and DIY, but what we're used to seeing that originally got us into the games (villager interactions, random encounters, really weird stuff, seeing completely new and oddball furniture pieces each day etc.) have been lost in favour of the new concept, and they haven't even polished up some of the QoL issues that go along with that change of pace either. I think people are used to Nintendo setting out their game mechanics simply and then diving deep into the things you can do with those mechanics, where now they are trying to perfect enormous systems of mechanisms that can keep you entertained for ages because they're meticulously crafted, but once you're over it you're over it... like they're handing us a perfect Rube Goldberg machine that expands miles and miles, when sometimes all we want is for them to let us play around with our huge bucket of Legos. That said, I've logged like 300 hours into NH anyway...

People who get the game a year from now are going to get a more complete game then the people who got the game on launch because new features are slowly being added

yeah! even if the balloon set is kinda... yknow, it makes quite a bit of bells and it feels nice to have some uncommon items thrown into the mix. its a win-win either way, especially if youre collecting the balloon set for something or just because you like it.

I don’t agree. Every day has something new to do. Talk to villagers, build new things, sell turnips, buy turnips, fish, catch bugs, water flowers, plant a bell tree, extract a bell tree, sell items, search for the diy in a bottle, visit friends, clear nook miles+ objectives. Anyways, I think the game can be really fun and I often find myself playing it 2 hours a day without time traveling

Talking to my villagers and doing favors for them was literally my favorite thing to do in New Leaf, so I am really disappointed by the villagers in New Horizons as well. Villagers used to always talk to me for more than just one sentence. Sometimes they were funny, sometimes they showed off their personality, or sometimes they just wanted to have a normal conversation. To me, they made the game feel so alive and gave it such an incredible personality. NH villagers are so bland. I don't even feel like they're my friends. And we all know how hard it was to talk to them during the Bunny Day event.

Unpopular opinion: I feel like this game was rushed to release. Considering how staple features of the series that were completely missing at launch are now being added back in updates. So it just kinda feels like the game came out incomplete and is still lacking in actual stuff to do compared to lets say New Leaf. I understand why the pushed out the game however due to it already getting delayed once and they didn't want to delay it again, but still it just feels kinda empty with a lack of content, poor ui, and just some really poorly designed/balanced systems such as crafting.

I think a lot of people would have been mad if Nintendo waited any longer to release, and they might be working on things that were planned to be released originally, but would have needed a lot of delay. However, I do think they could have added more at launch and in the updates.

Updates and advancements or not, that will never change. We may have years of updates making this the best Animal Crossing game ever, but it certainly was not at launch and they quite frankly don't have to do a thing about it if they don't want to. Also, this may be just me, but I am already sick of the regular updates allowing so much finagling with my island economy and wildlife. Reduced interest rates and rare spawn rates on a whim? It wouldn't have been important enough to push out without a regular update schedule, I bet.

I really really miss characters like Katrina in the fortune teller shop and pelly and phyllis at the post office. I really also want the dream suite back! It was so fun to visit other people's towns to get inspiration. I really dont understand why they didnt bring it back. With the level of customization and terraforming in new horizons, wouldn't everyone want to visit other islands to see how they designed them with the dream suite? It was such a great addition to new leaf.

I don't like that they merged the post with the airport. It's tedious having to click on the cards stand, wait for the dialogue, choose who to write to, and then send. I write a lot of letters. I want to to do it like in NL, with an inventory for letters only. It was so much easier. I also don't like that it costs 200 bells to send one letter. Maybe it could've been like 50 bells to the villagers on your own island and a 100 to friends online. I also don't like that villagers ONLY talk about the event on event days. Dialogue is super repetetive and you can't even give them gifts when they're outside. Wish the villagers could sing more than ONE song too. That tune gets super annoying after hearing it for the hundredth time. Also miss the bigger house from NL. The side rooms are so small now whereas in NL I could fit so many things in there. And what's up with not being able to store Turnips in your storage? And not seeing what you've already bought in the shops, especially the Able sisters. Would be so much easier if they could just add a little tick by the items you've already bought. Not seeing the color of your items in your inventory is a bit troublesome. The furniture only gets the golden leaf icon if you use a custom pattern, otherwise it's just a green leaf even though I've customised it. And retail would've been perfect for ACNH. Being able to sell your furniture legit. And oh my gosh, we need more stores and a Tortimer island. I also want to place rugs outside. Unbreakable tools too. Maybe we could use a large star fragment to craft them. And please let my villagers visit my house! And more chores from them in general. It's also super difficult to get them to give you a specific nickname if you've already agreed to one. It wasn't like that before :c I've seen a clip from a guy who got to have a treasure hunt with a villager, which I've never experienced, and I've played over 200 hours. I've only gotten the "will you buy this from me", "here's a gift", and the catchphrase one and nickname one two times each. I also want to see Resettis face.. And so many other NPC's, like Kapp'n and his family. I LOVE the game, but there's a lot that's missing. I agree that it feels like furnishing my island is the only thing left after upgrading Nooks cranny ony once. I haven't upgraded it yet though.

I understand that they didn't include all of the content and decided to distribute it via updates to keep the game fresh, and that's fine. The villagers say the same recycled dialogue over and over, and once you get K.K. to come to your island, that's pretty much it. New Leaf had all the content from day one, and I've played that game since it released. Even though I time traveled I never got bored. With this game there just isn't much to do outside of terraforming.

Something that really broke immersion for me was actually today, when i did my rounds to talk to villagers and EVERY SINGLE PERSON said something about how i was hitting rocks the day before... every villager when i talked to them told me that.... I think in general there is a LOT less dialogue in this game, so thats why the villagers are coded to get mad if you talk to them too many times (Because they would just repeat themselves everyday)

I will admit it’s a lot easier to customize furniture now rather than taking it to Cyrus, waiting 30 minutes, and then picking it up without seeing a preview of what it might look like, but I hate how most items can’t be customized at all. For example: if you were to get the Lovely Bed from New Leaf, you could customize it a few different ways with only buying one version. In this game, if you were to buy the cute bed or something like that you are stuck with that color until something else comes along that you like better.

From my own experience if you want to hear about something you've already donated you have to bring him the fish, bug, or Fossil and show it to him to get the info. Which could be frustrating if you wanted to hear about an out of season bug or fish or you have to spend a lot of days trying to find a fossil of the dino you want.

I like that Villagers get rude now- however I don’t see why Uchi’s are rude when they’re supposed to be the “big sister” villagers. I do think the rudeness needs to be put to the snooty and grumpy villagers- but also (and this will take a lot of programming if they do it so I don’t expect it any time soon) I think it’d be cool if the villagers were much more individualized instead of having only the personality based dialogues. Like all preppy villagers insist they’re pop stars, and talk a lot about it. I think they should definitely still have personality based dialogues, but it would also be cool if on top of that each villager had specific lines that only they say. And with that, I think their attitude can play into individuality. Also I think it’d be cool to have best friends, but also have villagers who don’t like you but still stay in the island. This can be entertaining for streamers who could use that for a comedic aspect in their let’s plays- also I hate that Rodney likes me, even though I despise him. Then that’d make sense for some villagers to hate when you talk to them too much in one day.

For the villagers not having a lot of dialogue I feel likely should at least have some back stories that you can unlock kinda like the able sisters, more individualized dialogue, and have the errands and game events a little more frequent. While my initial thinking is that this wouldn’t be super difficult, I also understand that there are hundreds of villagers and you have to consider the many languages it needs to be translated into. But overall I think it would be worthwhile for allowing us to more easily bond with our villagers and enjoy talking with them every day :)

Ultimately, my only real complaint is the slowness and limitations found when visiting your friends' islands. I can't imagine that a game on the Nintendo Switch in 2020 has to have so many loading screens, and prevent you from even placing items while your friends are around. I'd love to have my island open at all times too, so friends could just pop in, but then I'd be prevented from doing most other activities.

moon bound I know they money is a problem but its only 20$ A YEAR. I know that can be too much for some people but considering its a one time payment its really good. Also, if you have more games on your switch than Animal Crossing, you get coins for downloading them. So I was able to get Online for 10$ for a 12 month subscription

@@MarkSKristensen I don't think that's disappointing at all. I never went to the Café in New Leaf because I just didn't see the point really. I did regularly go to the Cafée in Wild World though, because I was going to the museum anyway and I also thought the atmosphere was way nicer. I liked the moody toned-down colours of it and I think in New Horizons they can also work with lighting a lot better to really make it cozy. Plus, the museum just looks fantastic and really luxurious so the café might turn out extremely beautiful if they match that.

You can once nooks cranny upgrades! The special colorful or outdoorsy tools have the same durability as the regular tools you craft, just with the added bonus that they're cuter lol. The only difference is that the regular are doesn't have any cutesy versions that I've seen, it's just the regular axe. But at least you can buy it.

1: starter villagers deserve to have their own unique homes. i have 2 of my dreamies (skye and agnes) but they were 2 out of my 5 starter villagers so skye's house is plain and boring and agnes only has a sleeping bag and a hat that i gave her. now i have to let them move out and either buy their amiibo cards, spend countless NMTs to find them, or just get different villagers altogether. their homes should at least be able to upgrade over the course of a week or 2 2: i saw someone in the comments suggest this but harriet should have a cooler job like giving you unique hilights or ombre, and more elaborate hairstyles than the ones you get in the mirror. even eye makeup would be a cool little feature 3: brewster's. enough said. i never even unlocked him in new leaf yet even i know he needs to be added 4: lief needs a permanent shop. not only is he adorable but it'd be great to get shrubs and flowers every day 5: going directly from one mystery island to another PLEASE 6: the furniture sets from new leaf should be added. i miss you alpine series. gone but never forgotton 6: idk if it's just me but i miss in new leaf when your old villagers would come and visit every once in a while!! other things like being able to eat fruit in bulk, buy NMTs in bulk, more villager dialogue and errands, hide and seek, pete the mailman, more custom slots, etc. and even though i'm very happy with the furniture items, i think more furniture would be cool (personally i would love like a stack of candles, a coffin, a cereal box, and a bean bag chair. comment more suggestions)

I hate that there’s not much to do in ACNH other than customising your island. There’s so much missing. Only two shops? And also Nooks Cranny seems to only have one upgraded version. I played New Leaf so long when I was younger and never fully unlocked everything and right now in ACNH I feel like I’m pretty much done except for customising my island and getting nice furniture. I expected way more and hope they’ll add a tone cuz if not I’ll be bored real quick. Idk maybe they should’ve released it later

This game really feels incomplete, the first 2 weeks are pretty fun with a lot more happening each day but then the game comes to a very sudden halt and there's just no incentive to keep playing. It really feels like the game was designed to only be played for the first month, which really makes it feel like there has to be major DLC coming.

I hope there's an update to expand the dialogue and number of times you can talk to a villager a day before they get annoyed. Also I'm not sure how many people noticed, but the new horizons commercials praised the online feature while all of the villagers were in the background or a minor thought, when it should be the opposite

The characters need more personality and dialogue! Ive been playing for over a month now and on the 3rd day I was already getting repeated dialogues from my starter villagers. I miss how in the older games every character seemed diverse in their conversations and more in-your-face with their personality type. Tangy was extremely peppy. Gaston was super rude and grumpy all the time. They all seem the same, you even get the exact same dialogue from villagers within their respective types. (Every. Single. Time. I get a diy recipe from a peppy villager, they mention maglevs in love.) They gave us terraforming in this game but really took away the aspect of the game that made it so great in the first place, the animals and each ones uniqueness

3:18 oh my goodness, this a million times over. I was already bracing myself for sickly sweet villagers that were my instant best friends, but to have that alongside the teasing about how I have nothing better to do than to talk to them? Look, I loved the rude villagers- (I’m all about the OG game and Wild World was one of my favorite teenhood games) but I think that was mostly based on how hilarious and over the top their sassiness was. In NH, I feel like the translation team was trying to inject a little bit of that sassiness some fans wanted. But mixed with everyone’s generic friendliness, it just makes them sound fake. Like they are being passive aggressive or they are just pretending to be my friends. I’m glad to know I’m not the only one who feels this way. I will still forever love my OG rude villagers because when I treated them right, I had earned their friendship instead of it just being given to me at the start.

one of the worst offenders seems to be the uchi personality, but their whole schtick is that they love you but they're very blunt. so they're almost like in instant best-friend mode where they like that you're talking to them but they have to rib you about it a little at the same time. my own unpopular opinion - i love the snooty personalities because it feels like having rarity from MLP:FiM on my island. i have 3 normal, 2 snooty, 1 uchi, 1 smug, 1 lazy and 1 jock. the only one that gets on my nerves is the jock, but it's goose so there are too many chicken jokes for me to want to kick him off the island (his fence is the straw fence, he's got a hay bed inside AND outside his house, i gift him all the sporty stuff i don't want and i made him say "bruh-CAWK!")

I miss the little intro in the old games that would come up when you're loading into the game. It's kind of here with Isabelle's announcements but they're not really very useful or cute. I miss having Rover talk to me as I load into the game. The closest we had to that was at the very beginning of the game when you go to sleep and see K.K. “Welcome back, AGAIN. I’ll get you set up. AGAIN! Hahaha!”

Ya know, the funny thing about all of this, is that yes they are “unpopular” opinions, many of them are shared. Meaning that many players of this game have little things or bigger that they want to see changed. I don’t think anyone would complain to any new content so I think nintendo should take this advantage they have right now and make animal crossing new horizons the BEST it can be. There are fixes to Isabelle being useless and most of them just involve ditching her altogether because she's just there because a lot of the fandom says "aw cute doggo."
