#16 ) The lines on the floor in the fossil exhibit actually follow the real life dinosaur evolution chart. The lines will branch out to different kinds of dinosaurs/fossils from era to era, eventually leading to the animal silouhettes in the final room. Easy to miss if you are into dinosaurs but a treat and especially brilliant detail for paleontologists.

I have a few theories about additions to the museum - that tucked away door in the fossil exhibit seems perfect for the Gyroid exhibit, as well as the back left corner in the first large area with the meteor display, since it's so bare and there's no reason to go up there, similarly to how there was no need to go upstairs in the museum until the art exhibit was added. As for the cafe/gift shop, it seems like the art exhibit is perfect for it - when you enter the art section, and you stand in that square that lets you have a larger look around the room, the entire art section is really off balance - it takes up the center and upper right side of the museum, but the upper left is completely blocked off by a wall. The entire left side of the second floor isn't being utilized, and there's just a blank wall. If the way that camera pulls back was aimed towards the right, it would make more sense seemingly because at least it's showing off the right most displays. However, if that's where the cafe/gift shop meant, not only would that camera angle make sense, but it would also even out that second floor issue.

The fossil section is the place with the most little touches. If you look at the floor, it has these lines that connect everything together to the last room with the animal shadows. It actually shows you the evolution of all the animals you can get in the game, and you see where their shadows are, you see the line actually taking you to the fossil that evolves into it. Including you, the human, which go to the end of the animal line. Also, I love the little ants that escaped their area

When I went to go see the out of bounds centipede in the museum, it wasn't where you saw it (above the ant case). However, I did eventually find it by looking close enough and it was merely sitting on the cabinet case above the fly jar. This got me thinking. If it wasnt in the same spot where you saw yours, then if i left the room and came back would it still be there? And to my suprise, it wasnt! But the interesting thing was: when I was heading towards the butterfly room to potentially reset the centipedes location, I noticed that my scorpion was hiding behind a cactus and the dung beetle was rolling around a ball of sand. I didnt take much notice of I then, but when I came back into the room the scorpion was running around and the dung beetle was hidden away "protecting" his ball of sand in the corner. And once I saw that the centipede wasn't on top of the cabinets or the ant exhibit i thought: the location of the out of bounds centipede must be different every time I enter and exit the room, much like the positions of all the other bugs (and maybe fish) in the room. So maybe this centepede has a "different spot every time" kind of thing going on for it. That's just my take anyway.

I wish Flick could use the lab when he came to the island. Seeing as though his dad is part of the exhibit, maybe instead of always walking around the island, flick could stay in the lab and study bugs for the day. It would not only make it easier to locate him on his days on the island, but it would also be really cool to see how he would interact with the lab and being surrounded by bugs. I would suggest the same with C.J. (i assume his name is Chip Junior) In the deep exhibit where the oarfish is, but there isn't really much there to interact with. Maybe on the stage with the ocean man, a video stage and desk could be set up, like a backdrop for a fishing livestream and viewing station or something.

I think the fish in the bug exhibit actually have to triggers before they appear, as in you have to have the actual fish donated (so carps and kois) for example and then a certain number of bugs donated as well before they show up. And maybe the same is true for the small items in the fossil exhibit entrance, since there is a squid, tarantula, and crab. And also a Flat mushroom, which is really interesting.

Fun fact. With the evolutionary lines on the floors in the fossil exhibit they lead to the villager types that decend from the fossils in question. That you may have already known but i love the implications there. That every animal villager species is just a different evolutionary line leading to sentient animal people with Humans just being one of those various lines. This is something i had thought was the case anyway in prior games seeing how you can catch regular old frogs and octopi in new leaf and also have villagers that are frogs or octopi. Which suggests that regular old normal gorillas still exist with the anthropomorphic gorilla villagers existing as well. Just a really interesting thing to me

late comment, but to add to yours....what if everyone was able to escape except you? screen goes black then you hear the start up of the game music, and of course you click A to play. First thing you notice you aren't the character you made instead its all the animals you had on that island cleaning it up. You have no control of the scene all you can do is watch. It cuts to certain scenarios you see Blathers digging things up to research and all of the sudden you hear and see the "!" reaction on him. He found a fossil, studies it for a bit then he has a surprised followed by a sad reaction "It's (your name)" he says. I know Animal Crossing won't go that dark but image if that happened.

Blows my mind everytime a new feature/detailed has been discovered. Also, I think several of the displays actually don't show the full display early on in the game. They only expand it once you've donated a certain amount, I see this a lot happening mostly in the fish exhibit. Like the forest background and also the divers/submarine. You won't see them early on.

@@tannettebeer1157 It also depends on which fish you donate. I didn't get the trees in the background until I caught a river fish I missed from earlier in the year. I wouldn't worry about it unless you've caught all the fish and it still doesn't appear.

When I tried to view that hidden partial bug, I actually found a whole bug up on top of that cabinet. If you tilt the camera at just the right angle you can see it. Also, since I haven't even seen a fly yet, much less caught one, on the counter, behind where your fly tank is located, there's a tea mug with sugar cubes. there's a trail of ants going across the counter and down the side of the counter behind the glass to that room. You can see them in your video at the 5:21 mark look just below your fly tank in the bottom left corner. I love all these hidden things in the museum, thank you for pointing them out in this video. The amount of work they put in to all of these details makes me love this game even more.

To catch a fly, you have to leave either a rotten turnip, old boot, or tire laying out on the ground. Eventually you'll see a fly buzzing around the garbage.

Based on the horseshoe crab sign having a syringe squirting a blue liquid on it, it’s likely talking about the importance of horseshoe crab blood (which is blue) to the medical industry, as it is vital to the production and safety testing of vaccines. Their blood is in such high demand that it is actually one of the most expensive liquids on earth costing tens of thousands of dollars per gallon.

Just wanted to clarify, the tail of the horseshoe crab isn’t a stinger. It’s used to right the horseshoe crab if they get flipped over. If you place the horseshoe crab as an item, you can flip them over and see them use it to flip themselves back over. It’s a really cool.

i don't know if anyone has said this in the comments yet, as i haven't dug through them, but When watching the bugs fight like at around 3:08 in the video, if you have a friend over onto your island and you're both in the museum, which bug wins the fight will vary. I had my friend on my island with me while we were in a discord call and we noticed this when we both mentioned how we saw the same bugs fighting, but a different bug win the fight (ex. if a rainbow stag and an atlas were fighting, we both saw those bugs, but the atlas won for me and the stag won for my friend)

Fun fact: the horseshoe crab actually uses it's tail for flipping itself back over if it ends up becoming upside down. It can use it for defense but it mostly uses it for rebalancing itself.

As per the loose centipede at 05:26, it can be found in many places. For example, I saw the loose centipede on top of the cupboard above where the flies are displayed. Also, sometimes there is a trail of ants coming out of the corner of the glass, across the window sill, down the wall and then to a hole in the joint between the wall and concrete of the examination room, only for the ant trail to appear going up the side of the counter with the fly display.

For anyone who hasn't collected too much art, you may want to do something like use Nookazon or something to try and get some because it can be really hard to get art. Redd is supposed to visit about once every two weeks but some of you may not have that happen, especially if you don't play every day. But I'll also give you some information about the art that he offers. Ive done the exploit with Redd on about 7 different days he was there, one day doing it for about 10 hours straight and even I haven't managed to collect all the real art available yet. Most people agree that Redd will have at most 2 real pieces, however there may have been a time or two that I've potentially seen 3 real pieces, but I wasn't paying too close attention and if it's possible to have 3 real pieces, it's extremely, extremely rare and you should never count on it happening. He can have no real pieces available on a given day as well. There are a decent number of pieces that are a lot more common than others. I didn't write down numbers to count, but regardless of if they were real or not, I noticed that the Wistful, Serene, and Quaint painting were very very common. The wistful painting was fake almost every time despite this though. On the session where I grinded for about 10 hours, I bought any real art even if I already donated it to help collect them for other people, and I didn't manage to even see every piece of art at all. On top of never seeing some at all, there were another number of pieces I only saw once or twice, or any number of times and they were fake every time. Like almost every special character, Redd cannot appear on Saturdays in New Horizons. And you might already know this, but the furniture Redd sells will always be available in different colors than the color sold in Nooks Cranny. You're not locked in to him selling you one color, I've collected almost every color baby bear and soft serve lamp through Redd. I hope this helped someone!

I have a huge theory that the little bug in the corner of the museum is the first bug you catch in the game and donate I’m not too sure but everyone’s that I’ve seen has either been a centipede, moth, or some bug that you would encounter early game.

I like going to museums IRL, so I've been enjoying filling up my museum. I also spent a lot of time checking out the museum when I went to Ally Bank's island, mostly the art because I don't have much yet (probably cause I consult a guide every time so I don't accidentally buy a fake...one time I visited Redd though every single art piece was fake, which bummed me out). Same with my best friend's museum, cause she's way farther along than me.
