Im literally binge watching your channel and you basically have the garage setup i need. Lol I think you should do a shop, basic tool and equipment tour with shop size specs and rough tool/equipment cost estimates. I wants to know, bro! 😎

I know I come late to this, but you said you are by no means a machinist - but I see what you are doing and that looks like machinist work to me. Well done man.

Thanks brotha! I'm not in love with the Grizz. There's a lot of play in my apron with the gibs tightened up fully. Can't take cuts over .03 without the thing chattering to pieces. But she's doing it

Thanks for the vids. You are doing a good job. Did you design with Solid Works? I have a build for next winter but it will be a 4x4 powered by a Gold wing 1800cc. Just working on getting components together now.

Been watching a lot of videos on this stuff lately. Thinking about taking the plunge and building one myself. Your videos have been super helpful in filling in some huge gaps in my understanding. What size lathe are you using? I've seen a bunch of mini lathes online. Would those be too small for building parts like this?
@jimkhana6881
@jimkhana6881 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I did the same for like 2 years...trying to find info that didnt exist. Its a big lathe..12x31 i think. the mini lathes wont work for steel parts. Theyre more for soft metals and plastics

Are those atv rims or is it a car lug pattern?

What lathe have you ?

its a grizzly 😔 i cant remember the model number. Its a combo lathe mill, 31" bed i believe. They only make 2 combos...this and a smaller one, if youre looking it up. But its not worth it. Just get a lathe and a separare mill. The mill on this is a glorified drill press. Not even glorified lol its a drill press with a cross slide 😅
