If I’m understanding it’s kind of sad that aft balconies don’t actually look out at the ocean. That is why I love them it to watch the wake of the ship with unobstructed views. I don’t necessarily want to look down on a public deck. That definitely changes the “extended aft view” category for me

There is a lot of great information in this video. I don't think I've ever seen a more detailed overview. It's so difficult to get good information on the cabins! The cabin location is very important to me and I really like the bed to be near the balcony instead of the bathroom. I'm booked on the Mardi Gras in 2020 in cabin 17207. Is there any way you can tell me the position of the bed in that cabin? This is a Cloud 9 Spa Balcony with an extended forward balcony. Looking at the pictures available when I made my booking, it seemed like the cabins in the middle of the front of deck 17 might seem more like caves than balcony staterooms and I like a sunny room. This is from Carnival's booking site. How much of an obstruction is the steel rail. Also you mention the wind on the end forward facing suites, how much of a factor is the wind on the forward balcony's. This Room Includes: Two twin beds (convert to king). Sofa, plus vanity with illuminated mirror. Full bathroom with shower. Ample closet space. Private forward-facing extended balcony with patio chairs and table. Note: View is partially obstructed by steel railing.

W I just love how informative your videos are! We have two cabins booked 11316 and 11324. I’m curious by any chance if you might be able to let me know what the exact set up is? Meaning so far next to balcony as opposed to bed next to bathroom? I called and asked and they told me that if I needed to I could have the furniture moved around. I found that odd because it doesn’t show that in the room meaning that I know the beds are located in a specific position to where you have the nightstands and the lights I don’t understand how that can be changed to accommodate you. Wouldn’t it be easier just to change the room? I thought you might have some insight on this and be able to better assist me as opposed to The information I was given. we were booked to sail next april but decided to rebook for july of 2022 given the covid situation - we actually went from a middle forward balcony to an ocean suite on an aft hump on deck 10 and now we are in the corner forward suite on deck 15(15209 to be exact tho i think in the video its listed as 15029) just curious if its really as windy as I've heard. and not really bothered with the overhang of the bridge - in fact we prefer that as we found out from our last couple sailings on the Dream and Vista in aft facing balconies both on deck 9 - it was nice not having anyone above us and a source of shade

Hi, The forward corner areas are windy d/t higher air pressure in front of the moving ship. How windy they are depends on the weather as well. Hi Manuel, 9300 is a mini-suite located above the Asian restaurant. There must be overlooking the overhang that partially covers the restaurant's open deck area. The balcony is exposed (no "roof"). The bed should be by the bathroom. Happy cruising!

Hi Deb, The Mardi Gras has mind boggling number of cabin layouts, however I was able to summarize and present in the video haw they look vs each other. Typically, the accessible cabins are x1.5 or x2 times larger that corresponding balcony or inside cabins. You can expect ~150 inches width for 1.5 cabins, and ~200 inches width for 2.0 cabins. Happy cruising!

A family member has that cabin mine is 10303" 9 hours ago Hi Tonya, For an unknown technical reason I am not able to post an answer in regular way. So... this is the answer. 10311 is located in the deep corner of the Forward Narrow Part and the Middle Hump. The field of view is 50% due to huge Middle Hump bumping out. Secondly, the location is the most distant from the sea, with roofs/open balconies and a public deck right below the balcony. This is a very unpleasant location if you want to enjoy the benefit of a balcony and PAY for it. Unless you have a big discount, stay away from this spot. 10303 isn't good either. IMPORTANT note about this area on deck 10. It has been underlined in the video that due to the mistakes and contradictions in the images and deck plans published by Carnival, I need to see the "unwrapped" ship photos from the shipyard. There is a little chance (according to some data from Carnival) that these balconies (Forward Narrow Part Deck 10) will be "extended". In this case there will be a so-so reason to book one of them. But the prognosis is negative so far. If the balconies are not extended (I will know soon), they will be among the worst locations on the ship, and should avoided (unless a significant discount is offered). Stay tuned. Deck 10 balconies isan update that I have been waiting for for a few months. Happy cruising!

Decided to splurge on spa cove balcony and the only options left for our sailing were 5247, 5259 and 5261. Automatically dismissed 5259 because I don't like connecting doors so that leaves 5247 and 5261. 5261 seemed appealing because of the shortcut to the elevators but chose 5247 based on lifeboat views from balcony. This puts us under the limelight stage so that should be interesting. I am curious as to why 5259, 5261 and 5273 are red. Is it the restrooms upstairs?

Hi Donna, The grey color means the middle of the two clearly visible extremes (worst/best). I suggest that potential cruisers avoid standard cabins on deck 9, as they will pay for the product that has much less value than other locations. As to 10473 & 10471, they are not in the red or pink zones (exposed to the roofs and/or crowds just below rather than to unobstructed connection to the sea), but the open deck below is still close. At the same time the balconies on deck 11 seem to be more relevant to "classic" balcony experience on cruise ships ("just you and the sea"). So ... deck 9 is definitely "no", and deck 10 is "definitely" (considering this ship design) "yes". So deck 10 in this area is left grey - "neither, nor" (I would hold my judgement). 10471 should have the bed by the balcony. Happy cruising!

You showed cove balconies, with lifeboats over head. Are those also cove balconies where the life boats are located above. Are they considered obstructed, and at a lesser value than unobstructed cove.

We've had a cove balcony with lifeboats overhead. They actually provide a little shade when cruising in hot summer. Love the cove balconies for the closeness to the water. Unfortunately most in my family love to be higher close to the action.

I got freaking 9450.. after looking at this video my cruise planner got some explaining to do before I go off on her lol .... this video almost bummed me out because I know it'll just be the sleeping area and there's plenty of other stuff to do on the boat but, I'm with 5 people total and these mini- suites feel like a complete rip off I feel like id be better off just getting 2 balconies instead.

Hi great video! We are looking at booking the aft excel suite. Any ideas which cabins/levels to book would be the best? Carnival have recommended 10492 but want to make sure this is the best choice.

Hi Michaela, I would look at decks 11 to 14 fro better views and less noise. Deck 10 is still too close to the open deck below. How about 12441 and 12443? Also bed placement? Which side will be facing the ports in cozumel, Costa Maya and mahogany bay??? I could switch to 14420 and 14422 if this side faces port.

You are amazing and saved me from making a big mistake. do you know if cabins 14267 or 14276 have the beds near the balcony or how to tell which rooms on the front hump do. Thx

Hi Mark, You are welcome. Both cabins have the beds by the bathroom. A connected cabins symbol, as a rule, indicates straight walls, that are on the left hand side for the "bed by the balcony", and the right hand side for the "bed by the bathroom". Happy cruising!

Thank you for this guide! I am concerned a bit as we have booked 11416. What makes this the worst balcony cabin? It was the only option left midship on that side of the ship. Our family has 2 other rooms midship on that side but in green locations per this guide. Thank you!

We have cabin 10355 booked for back to back weeks in January of 2021. Just wondering if the bed or the couch will be close to the balcony? I’m excited to have an extended balcony on the two week cruise we are going with.

Unbelievable content. Can you explain the problem with the extended aft balconies (accessible) on deck 15? Is it because it is right below another pool on Deck 16 or is it something else?

Thank you for the very informative video, I've referred back to it several times trying to decide the best room type/location for our first cruise where we will be taking kids along (they will be 2 and 4). I'm going between a mini-suite or Family Harbor. The video was extremely helpful to pin down the best location for the mini-suite. For the Family Harbor option, on the deck plan, room 4344 looks slightly larger than its neighbors. Do you think this might actually be the case or just something off on the deck plan graphic? Thank you!
