Adam nailed it that night. You can't see them from the camera angle but there were people dancing. The audience didn't know what hit them. Thanks for posting this!

PURE JOY...and a whole lot of time in the woodshed. I love the bit of distortion you occasionally add to the vocal via the harp mic. I also love that the live version is (at least) every bit as good as the studio version, while still being improvised in the moment. It's the perfect blend of form and freedom. This continues to be on of my favorites among your work.

Thanks. I hadn't watched this video in several years--in fact, I forgot it was out there--but I watched it just now and I like your assessment. There's a lesson here: I knew that this was going to be a big show, with three other exceptionally good harp players (David Barrett, Ronnie Shellist, Aki Kumar) on the stage and then in the audience, watching me. So I spent a lot of time in the woodshed, making sure that I could hold the beat and flow on harp at this tempo. Without all that work--several weeks of hard daily workouts--I wouldn't have been able to keep all the plates in the air (in juggling terms). A lot of hard work goes into being able to just get up there and play freely but precisely like this. Most people don't realize that. You need to put in the hard work in order to be able to just get up there and feel it and play it.

He is at no crossroads. LISTEN .This ain't no blues I recognise. Rule number one Blues players don't sing there is way more too it than this .All you 82 K subscribers should do some travelling, some living and a lot of listening. Plenty of the real stuff right on the door step.
