It was cancelled because it had no fans. You think they canceled it because people were watching

I realise I'm going against the grain and some people's opinions, but I thought the ending was hilarious. The production team and cast clearly knew the game was up, hence the p*ss-take ending. Jane Asher and Jane Gurnett are a hoot as the Northern checkout girls. 'Angela's comment about having the 'weirdest' dream was clearly alluding to Pam's dream in Dallas (when she woke up and discovered her 'dead' husband in the shower...) And the closing down of the supermarket / sacking of the staff was evidently a 'two fingers up' at the powers-that-be's decision to axe Crossroads ('Et tu, brute....! Stabbed in the back!') Who can blame them?

Maybe they would have had more success with a soap set in a supermarket. That last bit the so called reality was better then the daydream 😂

😮 There was only one 'Crossroads', the one that was created and first aired back in 1964, with Noele Gordon who made the show the success it was with it's regular 15 plus million viewers, and it's closing horizontal and vertical closing credits. No remake could come even close to the magic formula the original series had. Dynasty in the USA had Alexis (Joan Collins), Dallas had J.R. (Larry Hagman), our lovely Crossroads had Meg Richardson (Noele Gordon).

My dad's old car appeared in the title sequence of Crossroads during the 1980s.

@@RW-nr6bh is that when Phillip Bowman took over the show as producer and re named the show 'Crossroads Motel', instead of just 'Crossroads', it was a red car seen driving along the motorway to the motel. Bowman also wanted Noele Gordon (Meg Richardson) back, plans including scripts had been written, but she sadly passed away.
