Great solve - you make it look so easy! "Free-liver" sounded familiar and rang true to me as a glutton - just now looked up dictionary and it said "one who lives with more than usual freedom in the gratification of physical appetites", so nice clue really with a clever double use of the word "liver"

I don't think I have ever heard undertake used as a driving term, overtake is more common so I guess it makes sense. I love how crosswords teach you things you didn't know.

Undertaking is a dangerous driving practice in the UK, using the left lane on a 3 lane motorway, instead of the right lane, to overtake a car in the middle lane

Yes agree!

@@dweebovision Yes I thought that was the case. Not so many three lane roads where I am in Australia so maybe that's' why it isn't familiar to me. I would probably use several words in its place to describe the practice.

@@stevenclark1243 undertaking is also just passing left of someone who is in the right lane (or outside lane) of any road with 2 lanes going the same direction. It isn't all that safe and I'd prefer not to do it, but sometimes slow drivers (for reasons known only to them) sit in the right lane when they don't need to.

@@dweebovision I thought this was a really fun clue!

Further to comment by craigliken below, Chambers puts you straight defining 'free-liver' simply as 'glutton'.
