Great and relaxing video. I'm soon to be 38 years old, and the funny thing is, I love working on circle word searches. I'm not into doing the crossword puzzles, but I've found doing the circle word searches have an ASMR affect on me, so after 30 minutes or so, I start to get sleepy while doing them. Even though one thinks while doing both activities, it also relaxes you as well, or at least for me it does while doing the circle word searches.

quick Google...Marcellus is referring to the "Rotten" state of the political hierarchy king in Denmark where Hamlet takes place.. king is dead. Hamlet losing his grip so to speak etc. etc. etc. simply remarking on his screwed up things were.

I think the "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark" stems from a danish folk song which translates into the same phrase :) It was written by the danish musician, artist and social critique John Mogensen. He wrote very honest music and poetry in the 70's and 80's :) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Mogensen Link to a very crude translation of the song: lyricstranslate.com/en/der-er-noget-galt-i-danmark-something-wrong-denmark.html I am not certain about this info though ^^ but it is where I know the phrase from :) It cuold very well be older than that :)

The phrase "something is rotten in the state of denmark" is from William Shakespears Hamlet. I have no idea what it means though..

Lots of death and betrayal in Hamlet, I believe. It was set in Denmark.
@GeekInfusion8 жыл бұрын
Marcellus says it to Horatio when they see Hamelt's fathers ghost. the reason being that, in Tudor times, it was believed that if a ghost was seen, the dead person had been murdered. And as the ghost was king, it implies treason. So, something rotten in the state etc.

Oddly enough, your voice sounds JUST like a guy at my job. He's not a direct coworker, but I encounter him usually on a daily basis and our jobs are totally different. Seems like the same age group and everything. Pretty sure that you're even fairly local to me based on some of the magazines in the past (Atlanta Cutlery, etc.). It actually does make me wonder. That would be pretty funny, I guess. But if I'm not mistaken, aren't you retired, RelaxingASMR? Just was wondering. I have been following your videos for I guess a year or two now and I was just sitting here thinking. Then it hit me: "Wait a minute, WHERE do I know that voice from? It is so familiar." haha

Spelling errors there: Adamant/Lament*; the e in the cross section should have been an a. Inconsequential, but worth noting. Otherwise, great video!
