Oh my goodness I wish I would’ve found this video at least a year ago. I was literally on KZbin looking up different car seats reviews because I was considering getting rid of it because the buckle would pinch my daughters legs every time I buckled her in and she would end up with indentations in her thighs. Thank you so much for posting this. I just adjusted it and I’m hoping this solves the problem completely.

Mine has a metal piece that keeps it in that closer position. I've fought to remove it no less than 15 times and it is still winning.

You have to turn it vertical to get it through the slot. It can be quite challenging, but most seats do have that design. Some slots are wider than others. Graco's slots are especially challenging we find

You'll have to read the manual that came with your seat because how to change the crotch buckle position varies. But it's important that the crotch buckle is moved through both the shell of the car seat and the fabric

It varies by seat greatly. Some can be changed without uninstalling the seat, but other seats require that you remove the seat from the vehicle first. It depends on how this part was designed. But you can find out how in your car seat's manual.

There will be instructions in your car seat manual on how to do it. If your car seat has more than one slot for the crotch buckle, then there is definitely a way to move it.
