All SECRET Weapon Uses and Stats REVEALED in Breath of the Wild!!

There are a plethora of different weapons available to the player in Hyrule, but most of them hardly differ outside of damage and durability….as so we thought. Plenty of these weapons actually have many unique uses never explained directly to the player - so I thought I would break down every single one I have found so you can use them more effectively in your adventures!! Considering that the Radiant set is basically a luchador outfit, it would be so cool seeing Link using wrestling moves as finishers. I can imagine him suplexing Bokoblins, backbreaking Lizalfos or choking Lynels.

To be honest, I'm kind of upset that the Hyrule equipment (Guard equipment) is so much better then the other Race's equipment. I think it would be been nice if each faction had the best of one item type. Rito had the best bows (still semi true other than royal bow) Hyrule have the best shields (true because of the Hyrule shield and the Royal shields) Gerudo should've had the best claymore Zora should've had the best spears

Sad fun fact: The +50% bonus to a boomerang when thrown does not apply when throwing it at a frozen enemy (it's still x3 from the freeze)

I feel like there aren't too many games with hidden tech like these anymore. Just little things that if you know about, it can make your play sessions more fun of efficient. Since the game don't really tell you about them or even give you a hint about them for most of the time, they cannot be something that would be required to beat the game but they're things that if you experiment with enough, discovering them will give you a slight upper hand above those who don't. I just think these are really fun to try out and share with others.

My go-to game for this kind of thing is State of Decay. At first glance it's just a kind of a... dime-a-dozen, janky, zombie survival game... but SoD 1 is the game that made me realize how much I value experimenting and discovering hidden mechanics on my own. Minecraft and Dark Souls both have a TON of tricks too, but those games kind of depend on you to learn about online. State of Decay is cool because you can figure things out on your own... I was still learning new things about it dozens and dozens of hours in. I've still got a lot to learn about SoD 2.

Ancient bow also has a piercing property, meaning you can shoot trough enemy's shield

If you want to kill Gannon really easily just fully upgrade the ancient armor, get an ancient bow, and use ancient arrows. It does a lot of damage to him.

Here is something i dont see people mention often, you can kill small enemies with a shield by just parrying their attacks, by doing that you can avoid wasting your weapon durability in enemies that only have one hp like bats, skelletons and small chuchus, i believe parrying a huge chuchu will hurt him but im not sure i havent played this game in a while

You can kill any enemy with a lynel shield just by parrying into them.

I have a few ideas for a video: a video discussing the chances of a weapon having a certain bonus (i.e. the chance of it having long throw over durability up or how likely you are of having a strong atk. up bonus) a video discussing the chance of a yiga or stal enemy appearing at different spots a video discussing the different weights of different items when placed into an updraft (including link itself. Maybe you can test this at the Rito target-practice area?)

3:29 That´s why I always loved those katanas. Their base damage may not be the highest but the power of smashing an enemy away after a charge attack is even more satisfying than the spring-loaded hammer.

For the spins with the two-handed weapons, it locks enemies in place and doesn't send them flying until the finishing move where Link slams the weapon into the ground (I think it sends them flying when the weapon breaks but not sure about that). So you can get a high-damage claymore, start spinning into an enemy, and the enemy will not be able to move and will just keep taking damage with each spin until it dies. VERY convenient for killing the silver/gold bokoblins, lizalfos, and moblins, and useful for directing an enemy to go flying onto land instead of into water for enemies that drop sinking loot Also if you lift up the (breakable) metal crates and drop them on other metal or wooden crates, they ALL break, and you can save durability on your weapons (I use this method instead of using the remote bombs because those just send things flying). Has to be out in the open or in an area with a ceiling high enough to lift the crate as high as it will go, though. If it's just the one crate you can break it by lifting it and just dropping it on the ground

Another hidden thing for boomerangs: Most weapons have a delayed time between pressing R and throwing the weapon, but the boomerangs significantly reduce this delay, allowing you to throw them faster

2:08 with the mighty affect from food and potions, the max it gives is 50% more damage, combine this with ancient proficiency, and the extra 30% to 50% to guardians, you can do 2.8x to 2.6x damage to guardians, farther more while attacking on horseback, attacking at full speed always crits for double damage, so if you had all of this while riding horseback with a guardian axe++ you can take out a stalker in only a few hits

The royal guards bow with the durability transfer glitch and +20 attack modifier is my favorite bow by far, even moreso than savage lynel with 5 shot speed burst.

I like how one of the clips shows Croton throwing a Windcleaver at a Bokoblin, with said Windcleaver hitting the Bokoblin and a Yiga Blademaster, the only enemy in the game to drop a Windcleaver, appearing. I interpret that as “You disrespect the Windcleaver by throwing it! Now you must pay!” Edit: I never thought to use the Drillshaft on any of the three Ore types, as the only Mining weapons I used on the three Ore types were the Iron Sledgehammer, the Cobble Crusher, the Stone Smasher and the Boulder Breaker. I didn’t even know that the Drillshaft was a Mining Weapon. Thanks Croton!

I never realized just how good a royal guard bow was. Strength of a royal, speed of light, draw of rito and almost the length. Might need to cycle out some rito.bows for more royal types

The durability and it's single-shot nature is the only issue. However this does make it an AMAZING bow for ice arrow > 2h swing spam. Monsters that can be frozen can't fight against it, and you get pretty fast kills that save tons of durability on your weapons.

For some reason all Bows have the Default Draw Speed when on horse back, so the Swallow, Falcon, Great Eagle, Forest Dweller, Royal Guard, and any bow with Quick Draw are nerfed the Ancient Bow is Buffed on Horse Back

Did you already mention how lighting weapons on fire doesn't decrease its durability, rather it starts a timer that destroys the weapon if it reaches 0? The only exception is the torch, which doesn't have the timer.

Hello Croton, think you could do a video about how weapon buffs effect weapons, for example the durability up bonus increases durability, but by how much?

One odd thing that I've never seen anyone mention is that using the Windcleaver's gust ability decreases it's durability. I was just messing around in Hateno shooting gusts at villagers once, and it all of a sudden warned me of low durability. I had never hit a solid surface or enemy with it. Just gusts. It broke pretty quickly after that.

Bows are weapons, they just have a separate tab because they function so differently from the melee weapons.
