For the Two Guards question, my favorite nonviolent answer is that you go up to either guard, point to the other one, and go "Which way would THAT GUY tell me to go", and then whatever the answer is you go the other way. If you ask the liar, he'll tell you what the truth-teller wouldn't, so you go the other way and you're good. If you ask the truth-teller, he'll tell you what the liar would tell you, and so you go the other way and you're good. It's not foolproof but it works.

4:13 Mechanical Turk all over again. (Many probably know, for those who don’t: Built in 1770 it was presented as chess playing mechanical automaton, but actually had a human operating it inside, which was only revealed over 80 years later. There’s an extensive Wikipedia article about it). It’s also macabre that Amazon actually calls their Fiverr-like outsourcing platform Amazon Mechanical Turk. On a larger scale the Mechanical Turk exemplifies the illusion of human-free tech pretty well conceptually, specifically the more complex it gets. Be it Autonomous Driving or the stochastic parrots commonly referred to as AI.
