Crow Fair, created in 1904 and held the third weekend in August on the Crow Indian Reservation along the banks of the Little Bighorn River, this weekend in August hosts the Teepee Capital of the World. This annual celebration is one of he largest gatherings for the Apsáalooke Nation and is the largest modern day American Indian encampment. Crow Fair welcomes all Native American tribes of the Great Plains and is indeed the 'giant family reunion under the Big Sky', the annual reunion of family clans and celebration of Apsáalooke (Crow) culture.. Arts, crafts and culture are all on display.
This is the Sunday parade of the daily parades where each family gets to show off their best in traditional bead work, buckskin and leather work all made especially for the purpose of this pow wow.
