Disturb Reality What a cool offer! I started magic about a month ago learning primarily from your videos. It would be cool to come out there (if I could) and do a video with a theme of 'even a newbie can do it'. I'm ok with the magic, but good at approaching people. It would be an interesting mix!

The internet doesn't deserve you man. After putting out a ton of tutorials already on this channel, you actually start delving into the higher level stuff on presentation nuances and everybody just wants more tutorials... lulz. I really appreciate your fresh approach to magic for magicians on youtube. Plenty of folks are trying to put our 1000 tutorial videos already.
@DisturbReality6 жыл бұрын
I already have enough tutorials, STRONG TUTORIALS, don't think many of my new tutorials I'll be releasing can top the best tutorials I've already put out. I've always always always tried to promote the channel as teaching how to be a magician and not just perform, so these daily street magic variation styles along with stories like these hopefully will help others while inspiring me (with comments from you guys) of different questions to answer and videos to put out answering challenging questions for aspiring magicians.

Thats such a generous offer, I wish I was a better performer. I always end up making up a trick on the spot and its never that great. Cheers. Yeah, the notes app in the phone is amazing for a lot more than just writing down a list of tricks. I write all of my ideas for anything down there.

I really like the experimentation you present to the channel. I'll usually match the audience's mood. I think some tricks warrant the serious mysterious mood. Sometimes I'll match the humor or bubbliness. In short, I'm a fan on allowing the audience to react.

when ur being silent and allowing them to react, it seems like u also make a conscious decision not to move much, is that right? like u almost turn into a statue sometimes
@DisturbReality6 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's a conscious decision on my end. I honestly probably do that unconsciously, if anything. The only real thing I'm thinking about during those moments is to be nearby the spectator, because I'm mic'ed up. I want the microphone to pick up whatever they're going to say -- another reason why I stay silent. Something they say can make for an awesome sound-bite that I like to use for my intros..... but if I interrupt them talking and train of thought then that sound-bite becomes useless. If I move too much, it might ruffle the microphone as it scrapes across my chest. I've found that in magic/dating: the biggest difference is indifference. When you act indifferent towards something, it really throws people through a loop.....

@DisturbReality6 жыл бұрын
It's an incredible effect, everyone's phones are way too big now for it to work properly :/
@MagicKeeper6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I noticed that myself when trying to relearn it. I would practice with a deck of cards but that doesn't blow the spectators mind the same way. Some wallets might work tho right?
@piezomofo6 жыл бұрын
While saying to emulate your idols might be the easiest thing for some to do. "Come up with your own original material, and be your own original character." Might be really good advice, too. I'm not trying to cast shade, I'm just saying... Definitely agree with giving the audience time to react and appreciate the magic moment. It's important to remember that they're active participants, and without them, you may as well be preforming for a mirror.
@DisturbReality6 жыл бұрын
If you emulate a bunch of different people you become a variation of a handful of them--ultimately becoming YOUR OWN VERSION. It's a lot easier for shy, non-confident aspiring magicians to emulate their heroes than come up with a 'completely original character.' Nothing is original anymore. Criss Angel was heavily inspired by Houdini. You take 5 different personality traits from 5 different performers you get 'an original character.' People need to start out with what's 'easier,' IN ORDER to get to that level of challenging.
@yousefmd40396 жыл бұрын
need longer videos lol would be more fun to watch many people reacting instead of just 1 or 2 people or groups
@DisturbReality6 жыл бұрын
Some videos are longer, some are shorter. I only make my videos as long as they need to be. Others make videos make videos JUST OVER 10 minutes long to better their monetization - this video is coincidentally 10 minutes and 24 seconds. But go to, for example, Chris Ramsay's page and ask yourself why exactly almost all of his recent videos are JUST over 10 minutes long.... it's not a coincidence. People unnecessarily stretch their videos out to be 10 minutes are longer because KZbin pays slightly better for those videos and watch time. If you ask me, it's bullshit and manipulative. IT'S NOT ONLY CHRIS AND IT'S NOT A SECRET EITHER, TOP TOP TOP TOP KZbinR'S DO THIS SHIT. I only make my videos as long as they need to be, nothing more nothing less. Sometimes my daily street magic videos will be long, sometimes they'll be short, just hope you watch and enjoy regardless of how long or short each video is.
@yousefmd40396 жыл бұрын
i mean, wouldnt it be a win win for both you and the viewers since we'll get more to watch and well more payment for you lol , but yeah i mean you're the content creator here so it depends on you, and yes there are people who try so hard to stretch their videos over 10 mins and honestly it gets boring (like Chris Ramsey's ...his videos are boring) , BUT I HAVE FUN WATCHING YOU THAT'S WHY I NEED MORE TO WATCH HAHA xD

Hey Jarek, I was wondering, why do you look so mean after performing a trick? Does it make a difference compared to just having a little smile on your lips? .... (Btw., I appreciate your work bro, keep it up!)
@DisturbReality6 жыл бұрын
That might just be my face lol. I don't try to look "mean." I just try to look indifferent. I don't want to smile or look any semblance of amazed because, again, I'm not supposed to be amazed, I leave 100% of that spectrum for the spectator. I'll take the 100% of the opposite spectrum. Yin and Yang.
