I need something a little more in depth information about the actual product blueprint design stage. Exactly where do you find these engineers to make the blueprints? And if it's tweaking an existing electrical product, where does the person designing the blueprint get that information or can the manufacturer tweak it for you if you just tell them the minor change you want?

@crowdcrux4 жыл бұрын
I have a podcast coming out on that soon. Fear is a natural emotion. You are only afraid of the things you REALLY want. You’re afraid of loss. Of your ego being bruised. Of being set back financially. We choose our own future. We choose the person we are on our death bed. Who do you want to be.... What do you want to be able to say you’ve done..... The real answer to this question is where your destiny lies. It’s much easier to create, when you think about who you’re creating for. Let them motivate you, and a little bit of ambition.

thomasnet.com is where you start. I also like to search "short-run manfacturing" or "prototype manufacturing" to focus on producing enough product for the market without sinking completely into the abyss of debt. Debt is inevitable, but there are ways to minimize that. Also, before you consider going all in on manufacturing the product yourself, I'd highly consider looking into licensing. I'm at the stage of having to make a decision between the two and I'm telling you right now, I'm leaning more towards licensing just to get into market.

@lucasceleste47433 жыл бұрын
The best way to do it would be to design it on a CAD program such as solidworks, however their licenses are very expensive, $4,000 for the cheapest one. If your student, I believe there's a $99 license available, but your school or institution has to be registered in it. There might be a way to pay someone else to design it for you, but I'm not really sure. Best of luck to you though
@lucasceleste47433 жыл бұрын
After that, you can use a 3D printing service like craftcloud or something to actually print it. They're legit, you can choose material, density, color, basically everything you need. I've used them for 3D printing drone frames, they're really good. They are a little bit pricey though, but they do a good job.

If you think you will design a lot more products in the future, 3D modeling is a great skill to have. If you have this one, or a couple, ideas that you want to move forward with, definitely pay someone. There is a pretty steep learning curve. Knowing how to design something for 3D printing is yet another story, as is design for injection molding. A poor design will cost a lot more to manufacture per piece than a good one.
