They're still making it! There's a different lineup now (Neil Finn, Nick Seymour the original bassist, Mitchell Froom on keyboards - he produced the first 3 Crowded House albums & played keyboards on them, and Neil's sons Liam on guitar & backing vocs & Elroy on drums. And their NEW ALBUM called Dreamers Are Waiting comes out JUNE 4: depending where you live that's either TOMORROW or THE NEXT DAY! They toured New Zealand a couple months ago. They were also scheduled to tour more countries but those were postponed due to coronavirus. If you want to hear some really fantastic (aka finntastic) music, Neil did a lot of livestreams (for a while he did them every day!) during coronavirus - his songs, covers, answering listener questions, once he took a call from Mick Fleetwood (I'm not a fan of FM but it's cool for their fans), botany/gardening, his 4 yr old grandson Buddy making appearances talking & playing trumpet - sometimes Neil alone (those were my favorite) sometimes assisted by his sons, and post-quarantine Nick & Mitchell (Nick is wonderful). They're archived on neilfinn.com: click on FANGRADIO.

One of my favorite 80's songs and such a sad one and I love it. Just one of those tracks that you hear ever so often and it just hits deep.
@DreamsSketcher3 жыл бұрын
I always found it ultimately hopeful....
@awwgez3 жыл бұрын
@@DreamsSketcher I understand that because the lyrics are hopeful but the tone of the song and pace always made me sad as a kid. The song reminds me when a bad period of time is brand new and thats when uncertainty, change is at its highest and you have no hope at the time so you say "don't dreams it over." to keep you going in a era of your life. The Beach Boy's "Wouldn't it be nice." Is actually one of the saddest songs around even though it sounds like a light hearted love song. It's about how he could wish he was in a long lasting and loving relationship that's probably never going to happen. Songs of hopefulness can carry sadness to it as well but I love "Don't dream its over." for the emotions it triggers in me.

Their farewell and return concerts at the Sydney Opera House were second to none. Absolute perfection. Bass player is Nick Seymour, brother of Mark Seymour, lead singer of Hunters & Collectors. Another criminally underrated Aussie band.
@RickTBL3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for mentioning H&C. I met Mark and John Archer briefly, after a gig in a small club here in Hollywood around the time of The Jaws of Life. After that, I'd see them play in small clubs. I wore a black chauffeur's cap and stood in the front row. Mark Seymour would grab it off my head and wear it for about three songs, then put it back. This happened at two different shows. Lots of fun. It was insane to be interacting with Hunters and Collectors while they were playing, but I realized he is one of those guys who always looks soooo serious, but is actually quite funny. When they did Say Goodbye, Mark leaned over and screamed the line "You don't make me feel like a woman anymore!" right in my face. I think he was wearing my hat at the time. Those were the days.
