Crowdstrike should have a test network with every possible type of connected electronic device that they cover on it. This would be used test all patches, updates, etc. before distribution.

"An ending of the way how things were done" is the big overall theme we've been shown lately. Politics, technology, etc. Essentially the way we've been living within the "patriarchy" is at an end. With so much female energy coming to the fore in so many readings, I'm excited for myself, my daughter and granddaughters, and all women. The Age of Aquarius is being ushered in and women will have more power. No wonder we're seeing such backlash from the old and young white male oligarchs. They're feeling the energy, too, and running to protect their positions of power and their wealth. They just don't want to share.

This reminds me of New Orleans, Louisiana and the gulf coast after Hurricane Katrina. Our people were displaced, spread out far and wide. The servers, internet and cellular service was out for weeks. We did not have access to our banks and had no way to contact family and friends unless there was a predetermined place our of the area. Text messaging was only beginning; If you had a Blackberry, you could text. But most of us didn't even know what that was at the time. Geez. What saved me was I had several thousand dollars in cash, which I brought with me. This happened on a Sunday, and I secured an apartment by that Friday so we could move out of the shelter. Things have changed for the better, thank goodness. I hope everyone recovers quickly from this Crowdstrike fiasco.

My thoughts exactly. My sweet 21yr old son was ON A ✈️ FLIGHT 😬 from Bucharest to Amsterdam when this all went down (and I was asleep near Seattle, so totally unaware of the tech shenanigans) and what transpired for him was absolute bonkers as he tried to catch his Delta flight back to Seattle. Eventually happened, but we were all STRUCK by how one small ‘error’ caused so much chaos.

FYI the company is called CrowdStrike not CloudStrike. Luckily the airport I work at didn’t end up getting that software! 😳😬😮💨

Our area went through some significant flooding 2 years ago and all internet connections went down across the area. Cash only to purchase anything anywhere. ATM's emptied in no time & as no roads were open, no supplies of anything could come in for 3 days at least. Will never live without some cash again put away for emergencies. Was able to help a young couple get some diapers and formula for their baby, as a lot of people only use cards now. When things go down it becomes chaos.

I was in IT, considered a subject matter expert. I ran several teams of professionals. You NEVER install anything, not even a minor patch, without extensive testing first. So yes, some folks lost their jobs over this. How this changes? A security patch that is to eliminate a very serious security hole. But testing is still done, though very quickly. If that were the case? Who knows what the fallout would be. Someone very high up would have to decide risk vs reward there after consulting with department heads.

I am in Ontario, Canada, and in 2022, Rogers cable/ internet/ cell went down for 2 days. Interact was not available, and there was some anxiety from people who didn't have cash on hand. I have lived through power outages in the past, and therefore, I keep my cold storage pantry well stocked, extra propane for the barbecue, and the car gas tank full.

Power down is more worrying - that's why I love the idea of solar on a community level ... xx
@pixiedust61492 ай бұрын
I live in a sun state. Many people still can’t afford solar panel installation. There is no other option. It’s ridiculous! The government in Nevada has been successful keeping the solar companies struggling. More sun than these states know what to do with. Sad.
@maighstirtarot53852 ай бұрын
In Australia we get a rebate for installing solar - there is so much domestic rooftop solar that the energy companies are tossing up whether to charge us for putting it into the system ... that'll force a lot onto batteries, which is a good thing too ... pity the US hasn't followed suit but perhaps under the next government ... xx

this is the second time CrowdStrike has been hit. Seems that thousands of different connections would at least slow hackers done with volume of places that would need to be hacked

This just highlighted the issues with concentrated control laughingly called Cloud Services. Backups/redundancy would not help as they too would be of the same software. Large service providers need to diversify the backend - simples 😌 Having said that, whoever planned a global software update rather than a controlled rollout needs to go 😠 Then again, Cloudstrike proved that the attack protection does kill what it deems 'threat' software 😊 There is zero chance that an inhouse system could prevent the constant and escalating software attacks. Cloudstrike will prevail albeit with costlier insurance premiums 😏

I hope not whitmer, as she dissed Biden when he came to her state. Instead she was hobnobbing in Idaho where you go to get a blessing on your political ambitions. So she is with the oligarchs.

It is a very odd coincidence I feel that for 3 weeks telstra turned off our internet for 1 week then intermittent use of phones for 2 weeks here in Gippsland vic. It felt like we were a test case? At the same time, gas prices went through the roof? They are doing statistics on us as humans our reactions and monetary capabilities.?

“Iron helmet” the name folks in WVa call this “good old boy”, NOT. We own small piece of property in a family conclave in his district. He has done zip for his voters, but he has enriched himself and his family. His wife has a job far beyond her skill level, and the scandal of daughter and Epi Pen will live forever as Mommy ordered several for all of the schools amidst the chaos. This is a family of politicians, they play a game of who wants to be a Democrat this time, one way or another, no matter who wins the election, they always win.
