The tears in Weepingwind’s eyes and the look of pure rage and disgust Raveneye gave her… god, I just can’t imagine how a father could have so much hatred towards his wife and daughter for something they couldn’t control. This really made me think of Crowsong’s name in a whole new light. Her name was often seen as ironic considering the coarse caws aren’t exactly seen as a bird’s song. Similarly, no one saw Crowsong as a true member of her clan, an eyesore for the rest. Yet unlike everyone else, Weepingwind saw beauty in her newborn kit, like a song most would never listen to.

I think they’ve said before that Raveneye assumed Weepingwind cheated on him in hopes of getting healthy kits, since so many of their previous litters had died… maybe he knew deep down that she wouldn’t have done that, but he was too in denial to acknowledge it. augh poor lady

It’s so sad how even despite losing so many kits, he was willing to kill the one healthy kit they had just because she was white. They could’ve had a happier ending if Raveneye hadn’t been as cruel as his own father ;-;

The paw prints at the end are breaking my heart. I hope we get to see Crowsong’s siblings in StarClan, I wonder how they would feel about her. Their only sibling who made it to adulthood, ended up killing there who clan and going to the dark forest. The angst I swear.

If you think about it... do you think Raveneye knew of their ties with WingedClan? And do you think he was afraid of becoming like Crowingheart, but ended up becoming him anyway? What if the name "Crowkit" reminded him and made him fear his own daughter will be the destruction of the Clan and tried to keep her too busy to destroy it by putting her through harsh training since kithood, only to find out what he put his daughter through only made his fear come true, and Crowsong really did destroy their Clan. What if he knew he deserved the dark Forest, or he wanted to apologize to Crowsong for what he did, but he couldn't because StarClan wouldn't allow it? Or he starts to regret his actions in StarClan and think of how things would've been better if he had just *been* there for Crowsong. But in the end, his Clan was wiped out by the one he was meant to love most, and the one he tried protecting the Clan some the fate he set because of it.

Something I noticed ... the description mentioned that when Crowkit was named, Raveneye thought of Crowingheart. He was the silhouette on Raveneye's side of the screen near the end. The one on Weepingwind's side seems to resemble a young Omensky, if I'm not mistaken? Is that who she thought of when naming Crowkit much like Raveneye thought of Crowingheart? Cause if so, man that's really, really heartbreaking ... I absolutely love the whole layout of this PMV. One of my favorite details is seeing the crows on the top and bottom glow when they receive the omen ... and that whole scene in general, I just can't get enough of the scale and atmosphere of it all. Absolutely gorgeous work as always!! I always love seeing new Crowsong lore 💙

Gorgeous as always… I always love a good backstory and Weepingwind is so strong for getting through all of that. Rip her past kits and to Hell with Crowsong’s enemies. Just because they had rough lives doesn’t give them to right to treat her like an outcast. They brought their deaths upon themselves. If only it wasn’t a kit that had to be the she-cat’s first victim ✊🫶

Your artstyle is just gorgeous, and I love how each piece of yours is always so high quality and well-made. I also adore how complex your characters are, where even though most of them have done atrocious things, I can still sympathise while still not agreeing with them. I like Weepingwind and Ravenwing as characters a lot as well. Ravenwing grew up under the paw of his horrible father, while his younger brother was coddled by his mother, who he had never had any real bond with, and after a while he eventually killed his father, which paralels with how Crowsong killed him afted how he had treated her. His and Weepingwind's relationship was already strained after all the failed attempts at having kits, and I think maybe Crowsong was the last straw. I feel Ravenwing was never really evil, but he was heavily influenced by the clans' obsession with dark corvids, and the whole, 'you must have a dark pelt' thing. So that must have been the reason for his terrible relationship with Crowkit and the fact that her very name reminded him of his father. And Weepingwind used to be a very respected strong cat, but her clan and her mates rejection just broke her. And while she should have been their for Crowsong, I can see how things would've all that had happened would have affected her. In conclusion, I don't agree with how Ravenwing and Weepingwind treated Crowsong or how Ravenwing treated Weepingwind, but I don't think that even Ravenwing is exactly evil, just _VERY_ flawed.

This is beautifully well made as ever! SO MANYTHINGS TO UNPACK I love how the white patterns of the crow bones turn blue as soon as Crowkit is shown, as if starclan or some other universal entity was trying to send a sign. Corvidclan's beliefs have been around for many moons, and perhaps someone from beyond knew if they continued to be stuck in their tradition in dark pelts, it would lead to the destruction of the clan. Hence why Crowsong was born to be the change. Of course thats not how it happened. I also feel like Weepingwind's miscarriages and still borns may have also been a sign too for the clan to stop their ways, but that's probably in a more symbolic sense (leading up to the birth of Crow). RAVENEYE?? HELLO?? The fact that not only his daughter wasn't dark furred like he wanted is why he was cold towards her BUT ALSO BECAUSE OF HER NAME?? When Crowingheart was introduced, I thought how similar his name was compared to Crowsong. Weepingwind named her that in order for her to be in touch with the clan's roots. But to Raveneye, it served as a bad reminder of his father, who was hard and cruel to him in his youth. I don't think Raveneye hated his daughter, but held resentment for her for those reasons. Somewhere deep down, he wanted to care for her. But because he was so deeply enveloped in his own beliefs, fear, and trauma, he ended being a similar reflection to his father due to his actions towards Crowsong (harsh training, disregarding her, etc).

this entire pmv absolutely blew me out of the water but can we talk about that one frame with the silhouettes for a moment? just... the way Weepingwind's silhouette is kind of flowy and curly and she's looking away from Raveneye while Raveneye's silhouette is rigid and sharp and angry... Don't mind be renting about Raveneye and Weepingwind ayayayayaya If Raveneye remembered of Crowingheart with the name Crowkit, I think Weepingwind thought of Omensky because the crows were the omen sent to save her daughter. While Weepingwind saw her kit as a miracle blessed by the crows or starclan themselves, Raveneye might have seen it as a curse for what he did to Crowingheart in the past. Ravenwind is mu favorite topic regarding Crowsong's story tbh. I can't help but get SO MAD At Raveneye for treating Weepingwind so poorly when she's been there for him since kithood, and he should know better than to think she would be unfaithful to him. Also, including Carrioncall here- Since she hated the Crowsong family so much, I can't help but think to her reactions to the couple following apart. Maybe Crowkit's birth on one side was her lucky day lol Like it was great to see Weepingwind suffering because "She took" Raveneye away from Carriocall, like sweet karma (Because as I recall, she had a crush on Raveneye once-) And if Choughsneak and Duskit pester Crowong more, did Carrioncall bullied Weepingwind freely, now that Raveneye no longer favored her? Could she have contribuited for Weepingwind to work until exhaustion and also humiliate her when she's done nothing wrong? Just some thoughts I had. I do feel bad for Weepingwind, none of that was her fault, although I do feel mad at her aswell for distancing herself from Crowkit when she claimed that kit was precious to her. But apparently, her desire to belong back in the clan was stronger than protecting her daughter from Raveneye's harsh training and the bullying. Sorry Weepingwind, you failed Crowsong too, no excuses for you 😭 I wanted Crowsong to have a happy ending so BAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDD I hope she can reeincarnarte in a white corvid as an acceptance for whom she really was, and she flies free as she often visits Falconflight and Travels alongside Magpiewing. After reading the disc (which I do highly recommend, it adds another layer to Raveneye’s dislike/hate for his daughter. Eliminating all other factors, solely her name alone reminding him of his father is something I didn’t even think about. I wonder whenever someone calls out to Crowpaw, most likely Weepingwind, if Raveneye finishes the “ing” in his head as he cringes from just “crow” alone. Wonderful storytelling.

I honestly feel so bad for Crowsong, her birth wasn't her fault and the way she looks isn't her fault either, but she's constantly shamed for both of them, but to be shamed by your own Father hurts even more.

lol I keep commenting as I wanna point out things 0:06 forgot that you did mention that these two had a good relationship until CrowSong came up. It makes me question why the only reason RavenEye decided to keep CrowKit was because he was afraid of upsetting the crows (I would say starclan but I forgot what the crows represent in corvidclan.)
